Matchbox Dolls on ABM
I have a fun little DIY over on A Beautiful Mess right now! I made this matchbox bunny as a little Easter giftie, but created the pattern so you can sew this as a doll or any animal you'd like. Save your old (large) matchboxes and make something darling for a kiddo you know! You can find the full tutorial right here!
I hope your week is lovely so far! xo.

Weekly Wears: Simple Sunshine
Okay. So I laughed at myself while typing "Weekly Wears". I'm no fashion blogger, that's for sure. It's been a good little while since I dressed myself and documented it. Oh, well.
It's warming up here in Missouri and I'm feeling all kinds of inspired. I've realized that Spring is probably my favorite season. It honestly used to be winter, but the kind of awakening I feel every year when Spring makes its debut... well... it's almost magical. I can even forgive the harsh allergens (see first photo for puffy eyes and sneeze face) because Spring is so motivating. Plus: sunshine. I've really missed it.
Dress: c/o ModCloth; Body suit: F21; Tights: ModCloth; Purse: Bali ELF; Shoes: ABM x Swedish Hasbeens; Hair scarf: vintage
We finally have a weekend off from playing shows, so you will find me doing all of the outdoor things. On the agenda: building raised beds, spray painting way too many things, and planting flowers. Thanks, Spring.

Kimchi & Barley Miso Ramen with Blue Apron
It's no secret that my family has a serious love of food. I adore cooking, and we ALL adore eating. We've definitely gotten to explore a lot of new recipes over the past couple of years as I've been partnering with Blue Apron. The weeks when our box of fresh ingredients arrives, the girls help me dig through it like a treasure chest. I love that. Cooking with my mother was one of my favorite childhood memories, and it's fun seeing that working its way to my own kiddos. Even Johnny has gotten back on the cooking train with me. Thumbs up for men who cook.
Blue Apron also offers a recycling program, a two person or family meal plan, and step-by-step instructions for every recipe. This time around, we made Kimchi and Barley Miso Ramen and it was delicious.
Here's a spread of the yummy ingredients for the recipe. See that heart dish? It's full of garlic. Yum!
I'm 100% a ramen girl, so I was super excited to make this. What I didn't expect was for it to be a hit with Poesy (minus the kimchi and egg). I count this as a win for my picky little eater.

I just made mushroom and poblano pepper quesadillas with an avocado-radish salsa last week and they were also delicious. I honestly thought I despised radishes because of past encounters, but it all worked so well together! I'm learning not to rule things out as quickly these days.
**If you are interested in trying Blue Apron for the first time, click here to receive 2 free meals with your first order! This offer is good for the first 25 readers that sign up! Happy cooking!
You can find our past Blue Apron posts right here!

Snapshots
Here are some snapshots from the last couple of months. The weather has been glorious here in MO, so I've started planting some new bushes and flowers outside. The plan is to build my raised beds next weekend and get some veggies started! I'm so excited for this! Other than that, we've been busy working on the house, had lots of band practices (my new accordion is the best I've ever had), and spent as much time with friends as humanly possible. I love the cusp of Spring. It's one of the best feelings.
I'm off to clean my house because we're traveling with The Mixtapes this weekend and my MIL is coming to stay. Aaaaahhh. Power clean! Happy Friday, friends!

Out With The Old, In With The New: My Vanity Setup
Moving has been freeing in a lot of ways for me. It's been nice to let go of a lot of tangible baggage I had accumulated (hello to the purging I've been talking about incessantly) and being in a frame of mind where I'm more willing to switch out a lot of things from the old place. I didn't realize how much I needed a little breath of fresh air. One of the first things to go was my old vanity. It was adorable, but pretty uncomfortable and rickety. Anytime I would bump it, things would spill everywhere. Seriously annoying.
Here is my new little setup. Before she moved, Elsie passed this mirror on to me. It was originally Rachel's score, she gave it to Elsie, and now it lives in my house. Hooray for hand-me-downs! It's one of my very favorite things in our room.
I found the little desk from a craft store on clearance and my *squealing and jumping in excitement* has been all about this 1970s Playboy bunny chair. You don't find crazy things like this just everyday.
Okay, here is where I need your help, friends-- I'm not all about the black on this little desk/vanity table. What color should I paint it? Keep in mind that my ceiling is teal and my bedding is a mauve-y pink. My initial thought was mint, but I'm feeling like that may be a little bit of green overload. Gold? Yellow? I need your suggestions!
Okay, I'm off to work on a fun project for ABM. I'll share about it very soon!

Weekend Snaps
We had a pretty eventful weekend this weekend. My friend, Jess, came to town from Atlanta and stayed with us, so we did our best to show her more Springfield goodness that we didn't get to the last time she visited. There were brunches and plant shopping and karaoke and lots of food and gatherings and, well, you get the general idea. Here are some peeks at our weekend:
(This is the Lebanese place right up the street from us called That Lebanese Place. It's one of our very favorites!)
We did as much family stuff during the mornings and days as possible, but we went out for the grand opening of The Golden Girl Rum Club and karaoke one night, and then Johnny and I played a show with our band the next. Luckily, my girls adore their babysitter, so no one (mainly Poesy) was too upset that we took Jess with us. ;)
It was a fun (extended) weekend, and now I'm ready to get back to the daily grind! Happy Tuesday, friends!! xo.
