My Sensitive Firecracker
My little firecracker has been having a little bit of heartache about not being in our old house this week. It's been a good reminder for me, that even the most fun, outgoing, hilarious personalities can still be sensitive souls who need a hand sometimes. Just asking how someone is feeling and letting them know that those feelings matter is one of the most important things you can do for human connection... regardless of age.
This really has been on my mind a lot lately. People with empathetic, caring hearts are the kind of people I strive to be like. A friend who shows you how to love better is truly a friend to keep around. I sincerely hope all of you have at least one person in your life like this, and maybe you even feel like shooting them a quick text or call today to let them know you are thinking of them. xo.
Very sweet post. -Hanna Lei
ReplyDeleteKatie, this is beautiful. It's interesting how our kiddos think and feel. Mine are all reasonably sensitive and different things affect them differently. Knowing this and relating to them in their level is an eye opener sometimes for me, but one that I love. It pulls me up and makes me really slow up and listen and hold them as an individual rather than grouped together as my kiddos.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder to treasure and let the ones we appreciate and love most know how we feel. You're a beautiful soul :)
Beautiful post. :) I work as a nurse and I have to always remind myself to validate other people's emotions, allow them to feel them without trying so hard to "change them" or be uplifting when the time just isnt' right. Sometimes the best healing comes from just being listened too and hearing that it is ok to feel how you feel. I think this is so important for kids as well! :)
ReplyDeleteUau :) I'll save this post to always reminding me of thinking more often about other people's feelings. Really god post.

What a lovely sentiment, and a good reminder to all of us to take care of each other.
ReplyDeleteAww lovely post! Big hugs to you all! <3
ReplyDeleteI love this. I literally just got done writing a blog post, scheduled to go out tomorrow morning about how depressed I had become and how amazing it is when one of my friends, came out of the woodwork and was just there for me. They claimed they didn't know how they could help but that they wanted to and I was like "THAT! That right there! That's perfect." I've always loved your blog, and clearly this was something I needed to see tonight. That I wasn't alone. I moved months ago and I miss my old place, so let your daughter know even "adults" get attached to places and its ok to miss them but it is also ok to like a new place too because there are new adventures to be had. Adventures that couldn't happen in the old place. ;)
