Vintage Finds and Alterations
I've been quite the lucky duck lately when it comes to finding great vintage pieces. I thought I'd share some of my goodies with you and show how sometimes the smallest alterations can make a piece that feels too costume-y end up being something you love to wear!
Okay! Firstly, I just found the dress above yesterday. I was sorting through racks of clothes on one of my thrift-therapy trips (hey, it's a thing!) and I spotted it. As you can see, I used my fancy-pants Moorea Seal scissors to chop up a dress that used to be a floor length polyester number. After I hem it, it will be a darling polyester mini with the loveliest embroidered top. Oh-- and do you see that tag? It's been around for all these years and no one has ever worn it! I'm about to show this dress some major love.
I found this dress on one of our out-of-town band trips. I always try to hit flea markets when traveling because you never know what you'll find! With the long sleeves, high neck, and maxi length, this dress felt like a little too much. I'm removing the sleeves and hemming the arm holes and I think I'll really love it when it's done!
This little beauty needed some minor hand-stitching to replace missing snaps at the bust and to secure the bow. I don't know if I'll ever really wear this, but it was too pretty to pass up!! That's probably the exact reason my closet is exploding, huh?
Okay, so I'm not really altering these shoes, but look-- I thrifted pink shoes! I was pretty stoked to find these.
What about you? Are you working on any projects right now? xo.
I only wish. One day I'm going to start a label, just not now.

I love your creativity. I think the dresses look really good. As for me, my current project is to get through the goals I wanted to do this year. I have been kinda lax on some of them. The year is not over yet so I'm going to try to complete them.
