Yep. You read that right. My four year old has an Instagram. She's been asking for her own for about a year now, so we dug out Johnny's old iPhone and created an account for her. I only allow close friends and family to follow along (sorry, blog friends!), so here's a little peek at what IG looks like through the eyes/fingers of Poesy Wren:
One of my very favorite parts of her account is the captions. Poesy can't really read, but types out very convincing captions such as: "ajsihyeajeqjnakljhanseuiasg". I usually comment in emojis so she can get the full experience. ;) It's been fun seeing what she photographs... and seeing my piles of laundry in my IG feed. (ha.)
Well, I can't believe the weekend is here again, but it is. I hope your days are filled with something you love. xo.
Totally agree with you only allowing friends and family to follow, but it would be fun if you would give us a peek (like this) from time to time on the blog. She's so funny!

What a great idea to document her little spirit at this age. I love it. I think I will give my old phone to my 6 year old for this very reason. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome mom alert!!!
ReplyDeleteHehe, how cute!! Will really help friends and family get a greater insight into her life, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteThis is so precious! And it'll be something wonderful to look back on when she's older. And, who knows, this may open up an interest in photography for her ad become a lifelong hobby for her! Or she may become a blogger like mama :)

Nice pics! I think we must be careful with these kind of actuations with childrens. But, if you do it since the privacy and teaching them the responsible use of internet, it's perfect for them, because today all we live surrounded of new technologies since we born!

I love this. Instagram, Social Media in general is a touchy subject where wee ones are involved, huh. But honestly I think the key is monitoring them, right? Actively making sure your children are "safe" online is the key. My youngest (Layla, 7) wants an Instagram as well. It's hard for me not to give into that, but I'm just too nervous (as we are a split family) that her father wouldn't keep the tabs on it that need to be in place. But I'm excited for Posey. Isn't it wonderful that things like this exist in the world to help ALL of us embrace creativity. <3
