Crafting to Kickstart Creativity
I've been stuck in a sort of creative rut lately. There's been a bit of a crafting drought around here and I've been looking for ways to snap out of it. I've taken up crocheting again, which has been pretty therapeutic. Other than that, crafts such as pottery and embroidery are usually things that kickstart my creativity. We got a little happy mail from my friend, Jessica, from Miniature Rhino and it was just what the doctor ordered. We opened up these sweet zodiac embroidery kits and Hope and I had a little crafting afternoon... which is something we haven't done in far too long.
It's strange how the more I craft, the more I want to craft. When I'm out of the cycle for a while, I don't feel inspired to keep pursuing that creative side. Doing these little embroidery pieces has me wanting to get back in the game. I think it's time to plan out my next creative endeavor. xo.

I felt this way with playing the piano. I just stared at the piano, uninspired. Then one day I sat down and started to play, and I wondered why I hadn't been playing every spare moment of my life. It just fed me in a way nothing else could. Thanks for sharing this little moment with us. :)

I feel the same but with writing as well as working out. If I don't do it, I don't miss it. But when I do, I don't want to stop! :]

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of embroidering constellations. that's something I never would have thought of!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. I also think that it's not only about lack of inspiration. Sometimes the day-to-day chores get in the way to the point where I have to give myself 'permission' to do the creative stuff that I love. The truth is that nobody looks back on their life and wishes they'd spent more time doing laundry! P.S. What is Hope listening to? :)
ReplyDeleteThese are very cool :)
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo cute! I'm thinking about getting one for me and my boyfriend!
