Weekly Wears: Florals Forever
It's felt a lot like Spring around here lately and it's really tricking my brain. I keep thinking about the fruits and veggies I'll be growing in the garden this year and dreaming of fresh salsa and salads. Today it will be mid-60s and tomorrow we're supposed to start the slide into snowy weather. I'm really content either way. If it's going to be cold around these parts, I'm 100% PRO-SNOW. I love snow. So, goodbye, dreamy Spring weather and hello, dreamy winter wonderland.
Floral dress: c/o ModCloth; Hat: PS I Adore You; Clutch: PS I Adore You; Socks: gift; Boots: Seychelles; Locket: old Free People; Crystal Necklace: c/o ModCloth
I decided to group all of my floral dresses together in my closet for fun this week. I'm starting to think I have a problem. Florals forever. ;)
Happy Wednesday, friends! xo.

Using New Flavors in the Kitchen
I love to cook at home, but I have to admit, I often get stuck in a rut of using the same ingredients. Very rarely do I find myself picking out one of the "weird" veggies at the grocery store to use it in a meal. Blue Apron is great for me in that. They send you all the fresh ingredients you need for each meal straight to your house in a refrigerated box. For this Pasta E Fagioli recipe, I used a fennel bulb with fronds. Fronds? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have known what to do with that funny thing if it weren't for the breakdown on the recipe card. I love how simple using new ingredients is with Blue Apron.
Honorable mention: this recipe called for garlic chips. I've never even thought to make crunchy little chips out of garlic slices. Game changer.
The recipe card called for me to prep all the fresh ingredients first, so here's a beauty shot of some of the veggies I used. I've actually never used fresh rosemary either (I know, I know), so that was another new experience for me. After the veggies were prepped, I boiled the noodles and created the base for the meal. I combined it all and the meal was finished. Super easy!
Basically if you can follow a recipe card, you can make a pretty fancy meal with no real hiccups in 40 minutes or less. This meal was a serving size for two, but it was so hearty we ended up having leftovers. No complaints over here. There's also a family option, if you have need for meals feeding more than two people.
Since we started using Blue Apron, I've discovered so many new flavors I never would have cooked with. Fresh ginger and fresh lemongrass are staples in my kitchen thanks to the first Blue Apron meal I ever made. I'm super interested in making the Cremini & Porcini Mushroom-Barley Soup and the Vegetable Pot Pie next.
**Blue Apron is offering the first 50 readers two free meals on your first order. Just click here! Happy cooking!
Burger Date
These are some fun snaps from our Katie/Hope burger date last week. I mentioned in my new years resolution post that I'm trying to make more time for one-on-one dates with the girls, and in typical Hope fashion, burgers and strawberry milkshakes were on the menu that day. I'm excited to dress up a little fancy and take Poesy out on her special date this week.
Oh, and it's a tradition to take a little IG snap of our lady dates together, so here's the one from this beautiful day in January:
Happy Monday, friends!! xo.

Weekly Wears: Collections
I've been doing my best to acquire quality sweaters this winter. Sweaters can be on the pricey side, so choosing pieces that I'll want to wear again and again is key. The sweater I'm wearing in these photos is great with dresses or with jeans, and it basically feels like wearing a blanket. Basically, all you have to say to me is "wearable blanket" and I'm sold. ;) Other than this one, I bought myself two really warm lighter colored sweaters and asked for all the cashmere stuff for Christmas. I also wear this one like crazy. My sweater collection is growing nicely.
Sweater: c/o ModCloth; Dress: c/o PS I Adore You; Tights: Target; Shoes: Seychelles; Hat: ASOS; Necklace: Free People (old); Purse: Angela & Roi
I think this is the first bodycon dress I've ever owned. To be honest, I've always been a bit scared of them, but this one is super stretchy and comfy, and throwing a sweater over it is perfect for these colder days. I'm not claiming to be a convert just yet, but I do really like this particular dress. :)
I hope you are having a good week, friends. xo.

Snapshots: Around Here Lately
Life has been a little extra scattered over the past week or so. Last week my computer bit the dust along with all of my photos, so it's been a weird getting work-related things finished up. I'm happy to report that the super doctor who was fixing my computer saved most of my files and now I'm working on getting my computer back to working order (arranging files, reinstalling programs, etc). I'm definitely thankful he was able to retrieve so much from my failed hard drive. Whew. I had so many projects on that computer that haven't seen the light of day yet. I was freaking a little. My new life philosophy: backup, backup, backup.
**Plant babies
**Gymnastics life
**Lunch with the gals
**Cotton!
**Sleeping beauty
**Unseasonably warm days
I've got a to-do list a mile long today, but the sun is shining and the week is looking up, so no complaints here! I hope you have the best day. xo.

Disposable Camera Challenge // Roll 6
This roll took me quite a while to get through. I had it through my Nashville trip, Thanksgiving, my Skunkboy Creatures ornament season, playing a John Lennon tribute show, and Poesy's birthday. I'd say I carried this around for better than 3 months. Here's a peek at some of the snaps I got. I'll describe some of the important ones:
*Backstage at the John Lennon tribute show, "Imagine".
*Nashville visit to see my sweet gal, Gowa.
*Prohibition era party and seeing friends' bands.
*Love the picture of Poesy's dance party at her birthday so much.
*Gingerbread house building at the grandparents' house.
*3am/post-show sleepovers at our place. And Yahtzee. Johnny and Lauren are Yahtzee obsessed.
It's fun to have some little moments captured over an extended period of time. By the time I had these developed, I had completely forgotten about taking most of these. Getting film developed is like a happy little time warp.
I just heard about this new app called White Album where you take 24 photos with your phone (no editing) and when your "roll" is up you order the prints from them. I'm going to give it a go and see how I like it. I ALWAYS have my phone on me, so this could be a fun little project!
Alright, time to get back to sewing. Happy Monday, friends! xo.
