Holiday Crafting-- I Made A Wreath

Christmas Craftin
Somehow December has happened, and before the weekend I had NO Christmas decorations up.  I know lots of people wait until after Thanksgiving, so that statement doesn't seem that extreme, but in our house rule is THERE ARE NO RULES after October 31st.  (Yes, I used to try and put up my tree before Halloween.)  I've cooled off on the super early decorating in my later years, but I still like to have everything up before Thanksgiving and I just hadn't gotten to it yet.  This weekend was all about decorating the house and Christmas crafting.  I don't typically get to make much time for it, but the few crafts I do during November/December are some of my most enjoyed moments.

Some of our friends offered us this huge tub of plastic ornaments this summer and in typical Katie fashion, I said "why not"?  Just because they didn't have an immediate purpose didn't mean that I couldn't use them in the future.  This is also the exact reason our basement is overrun by THINGS.  Lots and lots of them.  Long story short:  I used the ornaments.

Here's a visual of how I put it together if you are interested.  I didn't have an existing wreath to glue the balls directly onto, so I cut a piece of cardboard into a wreath shape and filled in the gaps with silver tinsel limbs.  Super easy!  Oh, and I listened to the whole Sufjan Stevens Christmas album this day because that was necessary.

Bring on all the holiday type things because I am ready! Oh, and HAPPY DECEMBER!  xo.
