Beauty Products I've Been Loving
I haven't been very adventurous in the ol' makeup department lately. Running out of my favorite lipstick has put me on the hunt for a replacement, which has gotten me back on the makeup train. Unfortunately, my very favorite lipstick was purchased so long ago, I haven't been able to find it anywhere. That won't stop my quest, though! Here are some other beauty items I've found along the way, and have been loving recently:
I was loving my Makeup Forever mascara, but it seems like every time I run out of mascara (which isn't that often), I'm ready to try something different. This BadGal Lash is a pretty decent formula, but the brush that comes with it is killer! It's larger than any other mascara wand I've used before and it makes my lashes crazy full with just a couple of sweeps!
I purchased this stuff at Target the last time I was there, and it's been really good to my hair so far! I was finding that a lot of other oils were making my hair feel grimy, but this stuff really does feel weightless. Plus, any product I can get at Target instead of battling the mall crowds is ace in my book!
These cute little eyebrow razors are called Tinkles. I actually found these through another blogger's review (I wish I could remember who!) and they are great for a multitude of things like shaping and cleaning up eyebrows and eliminating any peach fuzz that may be hanging around. Plus, they are pretty darling.
You already saw this photo above, but I've recently started using waterproof eyeliner and it has been a game-changer. My eyeliner never really smeared too badly, but when you're working with a cateye, any smears are unwelcome. This is just a Maybelline kind I picked up at Target, so I would imagine there are even better waterproof liners out there.
Also, I'm not really a lipgloss gal, but on a whim I ordered this gloss and I absolutely love it. It still has a lipgloss texture, but it isn't slimy like a lot of the glosses I've tried. Plus, the color in this one is great. My lips look cherry Kool-Aid stained, which is a more subtle alternative when I'm not feeling the full-blown red lipstick vibes.
I've also signed back up with BirchBox, which is helping me find new products again. I took a break for a while, but when I don't have those samples rolling in, I don't really discover new products. If you're interested here's a code to sign up.
Are there any beauty products you've been loving lately? I'd REALLY love to hear recommendations on budget friendly waterproof eyeliners. Or, if you've found the perfect red lipstick that isn't on the pink-y side, I'd be especially interested in that as well! xo.
That lipgloss looks nice! Just the perfect shade of red. :)

Those Tinkles look amazing! How have I not had these in my life already?!
ReplyDeleteMy go-to miracle liner I keep going back to has been Maybelline's gel liner that comes in a little pot (although I like using a cheap liner brush from Ulta better than the one it comes with). I do feel a bit guilty with every pot I buy, considering Maybelline still tests on animals. :(
ReplyDeleteAs for red lips, the Limecrime Velbetines and Stila liquid lipsticks have the best reds that stay forever-- but the most PERFECT red lip has got to be the Nyx matte lip cream is Monte Carlo. So good!! :)
lots of great looking stuff! I will have to look into your picks :)

Eye liner: Sephora brand is awesome. I use the waterproof navy. Lipstick: Russian Red by MAC. It's matte, smells like cake, and the absolute perfect red for a redhead! ;)
ReplyDeleteCute lipgloss packaging!

I've been using the Kat Von D tattoo liner for years and it's the best out there, although not very budget-friendly. I have heard that Jessie's girl waterproof liquid eyeliner is super comparable and much more affordable, but it's not sold in a lots of stores so you might have to order it online. I've also heard good things about the NYC liquid liner, but I find that the applicator is too long and makes it hard to apply. But those are my suggestions! :)
ReplyDeletei love liquid eyeliner!! i'll have to try this kind!!

If you're in the market for a red lipstick, you should try Revlon Colorburst Lip Balm. They've got a few shades of matte red that stay on real well. I got mine about a month ago for like $7 and you can eat and drink with it on, not too much wears off. I also haven't had to use lip liner, the color doesn't bleed. I've been wearing "Stand Out" and I get a lot of compliments on it!
ReplyDeleteE.L.F has a liquid liner that seriously does. not. budge. And it's like... under $6, I'm pretty sure. And as far as non-pink red lipsticks, there's a good one from Rimmel London, the Kate Moss collection... I think it's shade 01. I'm wearing it here: http://www.eccentricowl.com/2014/09/04/bang-bang/ and I looove it. It's really smooth and creamy, too. Maybe a little thick, but not bad.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing other peoples' beauty products and recommendations, because I never really try new things either!

just saw this post and i hope you come across this comment. Alamay liquid eyeliner is a WHOLE NEW GAME. i have been doing cat eye since high school and have tried every liner there is. as soon as i met this beauty, i knew i found THE ONE. its not water proof BUT does NOT smudge, ever! and it has an awesome matte finish. I'm always being complimented on my eyeliner and always tell people to get this one!
ReplyDeleteI am really choosy and ardent when it comes to the selection of the beauty products. My lipstick finished and to my horror that brand shifted to the online market only. I searched all through out the net but couldn't find my product. I came across My Beauty Bazaar. I ordered my product. They were not having this brand in their inventory, but they sourced it at the most economical rate. Would recommend My Beauty Bazaar for all the brand freaks out there.
