I'm a gal who loves cooking. During the fall and winter months, I adore being in the kitchen. Once spring hits, though, it's almost as if my brain says, "Well, we're too busy now. See ya in the fall, stove." We do typically start getting busy in the spring, and then especially in the summer, but I've realized lately that I've been missing it. When I was contacted by Blue Apron to try out one of their boxes, I got pretty excited. They send you a box full of fresh ingredients and a step-by-step recipe alongside. I was a little nervous about food sitting on my porch while we were out the day it arrived, but the refrigerated box was sealed up tight and everything was still cold by the time I opened it.
(Side note: my garlic press is one of my very favorite kitchen tools. I cook with fresh garlic as much as possible and I used this gadget like nobody's business.)
As you can see from the photos above, everything from Blue Apron is laid out for you and the directions are very simple to follow. I was a little nervous about cooking with a few of the things like fresh lemongrass and ginger, but it was super simple. By the time I was done I was asking myself why I've never tried before!
Part of my family doesn't really eat meat, so I was curious to find out how the vegetarian options would taste. The food was delicious and gave me even more eagerness to get back in the kitchen. I think I'm ready to try more fresh ingredients I've never used before!! All in all, this was a really good experience for us. :)
What do you think? Do you like cooking? Do you think an all inclusive service like this is something you'd be interested in? I'm curious! xo.

I have to admit that I like what you cooked :) Especially as it's without meat what I always prefer. Therefore I will try as soon as possible this recipe as I have to cook daily for my family and I'm always looking for new recipes ...

I've been hearing great things about Blue Apron! Their meals look really incredible, and I love the idea of learning new recipes that I can later recreate. Unfortunately it's a bit out of my budget, even with that awesome discount.

This dish looks really yummy! I love cooking - especially with fresh ingredients! The smell coming from the kitchen is amazing if you use fresh garlic!!! We are still waiting for our new kitchen to arrive at our new house as it has been delayed but we'll get it mid September and I can't wait to get back behind the stove!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like something I would like, I have a hard time deciding what to make all the time even though I love cooking so this would make it easy, but sadly they don't accommodate any food allergies.
ReplyDeletehooray for vegetarian options. this looks delicious! autumn is the perfect time to get back into the swing of cooking, so many great flavors and seasonal produce.
ReplyDeleteI am ready for soups and stews! I love to cook, especially now that my girl are all in school. it gives me more time to just hang in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteEat a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteYum.
I'd eat almost anything if somebody told it it was the way to eat a rainbow. :)
I do like cooking quite a bit, but I am quite tied up with school. However! One of my goals after college is to grocery shop, cook and learn more about healthy eating.
Meantime, I shall continue to heavily compliment my sister's skills so that she doesn't stop making me dinner. :)
This seems like such a great idea! My busier months are when school has started. We are always trying to through something together with the random things we have in our kitchen when we haven't been to the grocery store for over a week.. it never really works. This seems like it would be so helpful!
