Farewell, Favorite Shoes

Wishlist
I had another post planned for today, but then my ol' trusty glitter flats broke and I fell into a deep sea of sad shoe shopping.  I'm sure I could find another pair, but usually I figure it's good to let a favorite pair of shoes run their course and then be done.  Otherwise I'd become that person who wears the same pair of shoes for 10+ years.  And really, who wants that?

Shoes:  1  //  2  //  3  //  4  //  5  //  6  //  7

How do you deal when you wear out a favorite pair of shoes?  Do you (sadly) let go like me, or do you search eBay and Zappos for an exact replacement?  I wanna know!

  1. So sad! But I agree that when your favorite shoes break you gotta let 'em go. You'll find a new even better pair to wear to death...don't you worry!

  2. I'm definitely the same, when an awesome pair of shoes breaks, I usually find something a little different to fall in love with!

  3. I understand the feeling Katie! I once cried after my baby cat ruined a pair of ballerina that i cherished for year (and were still in excellent condition!) and i've looked for a similar pair for months but never found one... Now i think i would just move on and consider it the excuse to search and buy a new pair...always an excuse and that one is to add to the list! ;)

  4. It depends, If my toms wore out I'd replace them with another pair of toms, maybe a different color, but still toms because of the whole do good thing, but if my favorite Sam Edelman Ballet Flats wore out, I'd get a different pair of Ballet flats, because even though I love those, if I only ever replaced shoes I loved with the same things then so many other shoes would go unloved.

  5. I always look for the exact same style but if I can't find it, I branch out and try something new (but they have to kind of look like the old pair!)

  7. I have the exact same glitter flats and they are on their last leg. I wear them with everything. Normally I would just let them go but these have my heart. I can't let go. </3 Haha.

  9. I feel the same way! When a pair breaks, it's time to let go and find an upgraded and better replacement!

  10. I look for something similar to the old pair! However in the end I usually find a couple of new favorites and I forget about my old ones haha.

  11. Definitely a situational decision. But if they're comfortable, durable, practical, and (most importantly) stylish, I'll scour high + low to replace them. But generally, I'll just stick to the brands that have proven themselves.

  12. I usually figure when they break it's time for a different style since I love more shoes in the world than I'll ever be fortunate enough to own. Have you ever tried DIY glitter shoes? I did it years ago and it was super simple and super fun. If you take a fabric shoe (non shiny for better hold) you can modge podge the glitter on (coarser glitter works better) and then spray them with waterproof sealant. It's fun and you get a pair of truly unique shoes!

  16. I hate that feeling! Although, I am that person that just sadly moves on because what else is there to do?

  20. I love shoes. I have a lot of them, but somehow always end up in the same 2 or 3 pairs. My favorite leather lace ups are about to reach "the end", but I am leaning towards having them resoled...yes the entire sole. Worn in shoes are sometimes too good to give up on :)

    Good luck in your search,
    Alyssa

  21. I usually buy a replacement pair because I'm boring and I also get so overwhelmed with shoe choices -- how do you choose?? Love your picks though.
