Weekly Wears: Girl Gang

So, probably at some point in your life you've had a "thing" for something.  Maybe it was something totally normal, or maybe it was something a little different.  I don't know what category mine falls into, but I have a "thing" for clear plastic.  Let's travel waaaaayyyyy back in time to pre-teen Katie with her clear plastic backpack and remind ourselves that nostalgia plays a large role in what we wear, what music we listen to, etc.  I will rock a clear plastic purse/coat/backpack/shoe/umbrella any day of the week.  Now you know.  Or, maybe you already did know.  ;))

Lucky for me, it's been pretty rainy around here lately so I've been getting some miles out of this coat.  Don't be fooled though, I really would wear this on a sunny day if I felt like it.  Hey, I like what I like.  ;)  xo. Katie

    Hi Katie! I found your blog because I saw the movie American Blogger. I really like your style! Especially the bright red hair!!! I like the clear coat! When I lived in the UK for two years I had a clear umbrella on which it said "I hate rain". It was soooo practical because I could see through it while I was walking...

    When I was a kid, plastic blow-up furniture was huge! It never lasted long and was horribly uncomfortable, but pretty rad nonetheless. And guess who still rocks jellies and clear umbrellas? This guy.

    This totally made me remember TWO clear purses that I had in the 90's. One was a huge beach bag style thing with a giant "C" on it that held my hair brush and bubble gum and maybe a spare cassette tape of N*Sync. :) Thanks for the flash back!

    That jacket totally brings me back to my cheerleading days. We definitely had clear plastic raincoats for those rainy games. I loved it.

    ME TOO. I had an array of clear plastic purses and one of the older girls in my high school came up to me and was like, "How can you carry that? What if you want to keep an extra pair of underwear in there or something?"
