Last night our basement flooded. Johnny happened to catch it early on, so we spent a good portion of the night laying our old photos out to dry. It was a pretty big bummer, but it was also really fun seeing all of our memories laid out like that. These are a few snippets from our past. :)
Remind me to tell you the story of this last photo sometime.
You are so beautiful and have such a wonderful family!x
ReplyDeleteoh that sucks!
ReplyDeleteI can't keep any paper or anything in our cellar because it would get too damp, even without flooding
I love looking at these old pictures though

ReplyDeleteHi Katie :) I love your blog. Your family is sooo adorable! I love all the photos you post, so seeing these old ones is just so fun! Have a good daym : )
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys caught it early, there's nothing worse than losing photos you can't replace. Speaking of which, I can hardly pick you out in these pictures! But they're lovely none-the-less :)
ReplyDeleteEmily
What a huge bummer about your basement! That only happened to us once, and thankfully nothing irreplaceable was ruined. Such a fun peek at your old photos though!
ReplyDeletegrunge days :)
ReplyDeleteHow old were you when you got married? You look so young!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so sweet :)
Oh my word, these pictures are just so great! How adorable and wonderful to see you guys growing up together!

ReplyDeleteDori
Oh no! I hope you managed to get everything out of the way!
ReplyDeleteWow! Its amazing to look back and see old photos from many years ago. Little Hope and seeing you both in your teens at High school. You guys are the sweetest :)

Thank you for sharing your photographed memories :) I love seeing old photos. You have me curious about the story of the last one!
ReplyDeleteYou and your husband are so cute together.
These are so cute. Really inspiring to scan in some old photos in case something like this happens!
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm sorry about your basement, but it's so good it was caught early! Thank you for this! I don't take nearly as much time to print out my photos; this is something that I need to make a priority!
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry about that! Thank God you noticed it before any bigger damage was done. It's good though that you dealt with it in a positive attitude. The walk through the memory lane is always so much fun!
ReplyDeleteOmg these are so adorable and cool!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you look totally great with all colors of hair! The dark looks awesome on you, and I am totally in love with your red hair, so it would take a lot to convince me!
Tell us the story of the last photo!
So glad you guys were able to grab your photos and get them dry. I love seeing years past, it's so amazing how much things change, yet stay the same. You two are so cute!
ReplyDeleteAw no!! I'm glad you were able to save these photos!
ReplyDeletefunny looking back and remembering all those things. thank goodness these got saved in time
ReplyDeleteHow sad and fun at the same time. I remember when our basement flooded, I lost all my old toys ( I was 5 or 6). But looking at pictures from the past is always so much fun. I love dwelling on old memories.
ReplyDeleteSorry your basement flooded! That really stinks. At least you realized in time to save all your pictures. Our basement flooded a few years ago right after we moved into our house. It was terrible having to rip everything up and make sure nothing was damaged. To your point, at least you got to see all your old photos. They are so cute! I love looking back at old photos because it's amazing to see how far you've come and how some things have remained the same. Hope everything dries out soon:)
ReplyDeleteI love these! What a fun post, thank you for sharing! And so glad you were able to save these-- flooded basements are the worst.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing! ha! I love seeing old photos - I cant believe how much Poe looks like Hope when she was smaller. Thank goodness they didnt get ruined!

ReplyDeleteOh my word. Too adorable, especially the last picture <3
ReplyDeleteYou and Johnny are too cute! I hope you share that story soon! :]
ReplyDeleteaawww, little Hope! goodness, how cute is she.
ReplyDeleteYou made me mourn. I already admired you: for the creativity that you got for all, for the amazing family, for your inner and outer beauty, for your precious daughters, for having married your high school sweetheart, and that the bonds are so strong. And you suddenly show up with all this in pictures, it makes me admire you even more. I love the life you lead and hope someday to be like you.
ReplyDeleteI was just listening to a song called This lovin' thing and it seemed perfect for these photos; i would love that u hear it too.
By the way, I hope all is saved from the flood. the photos are one of the most precious things, and never let us forget the wonderful it is and was our life.

XOXO
I did not even recognize you in that first picture. And that last one completely threw me off, too, but omg! <3
ReplyDeleteYou two are so cute. It's lovely that you've been together so long and have all these awesome photos. Sorry they got caught in the flood!
ReplyDeletei think this is my fave post ever!!! (the pics bit, not the flooding...)
ReplyDeleteit would be cool to hear more about how you and Johnny met..

ReplyDeleteCute :) tell us some of your story somewhen, especially the last pic
ReplyDeleteYou guys were (and still are) adorable! Fun to see these pictures of you. I hope everything dries ok and nothing is lost! I know how frustrating basement flooding can be. Good luck with the clean-up!
ReplyDeleteaw I'm glad you caught them in time, they're so sweet!

Oh man! Johnny so reminds me of this guitarist in a local band when I was in high school. My best friend and I were totally in love with him and went to every show. These old photos remind me so much of photos from that era, when we were young and awkward, but having so much fun. I love this peek back in time. Isn't it funny how hair cuts and colors can define certain times? I love your red hair, but you look beautiful regardless of the color!
ReplyDeleteSo sad to hear you flooded, but these photos are the cutest! You guys must have been together from such a young age :) Adorable!
ReplyDeleteamyloufashion.blogspot.co.uk
Thank you so much for sharing this part of your past in pix ;)
ReplyDeleteYou were so young when you had Hope ^^
You're a wonderful family and I love browsing your blog! I wish you all the best forever and ever!!
A faithful french reader ^^
These are just fantastic! Good on you for getting them printed! Prints are so much more vulnerable to damage but there's no replicating their accessibility and nostalgic value. I'd love to hear the story of how you and Johnny met. You're the most adorable couple!

Wow! These are great photos....it reminds me of my own youth in a way. What an incredible story you two have :)
ReplyDeleteAh. He was in a band. So was my husband. . .6 different ones at different times (sometimes 3 bands at once with different people and different types of music). These are cute. I love looking at photos of people. You two have aged so well and look so great now (not that you didn't then, but you both look young for your ages anyway as it is).
ReplyDeleteGlad you saved your photos as well as you could.
