Days Gone By

Last night our basement flooded.  Johnny happened to catch it early on, so we spent a good portion of the night laying our old photos out to dry.  It was a pretty big bummer, but it was also really fun seeing all of our memories laid out like that.  These are a few snippets from our past.  :)

Remind me to tell you the story of this last photo sometime.

    oh that sucks!
    I can't keep any paper or anything in our cellar because it would get too damp, even without flooding

    I'm glad you guys caught it early, there's nothing worse than losing photos you can't replace. Speaking of which, I can hardly pick you out in these pictures! But they're lovely none-the-less :)

    Wow! Its amazing to look back and see old photos from many years ago. Little Hope and seeing you both in your teens at High school. You guys are the sweetest :)

    How sad and fun at the same time. I remember when our basement flooded, I lost all my old toys ( I was 5 or 6). But looking at pictures from the past is always so much fun. I love dwelling on old memories.

    Sorry your basement flooded! That really stinks. At least you realized in time to save all your pictures. Our basement flooded a few years ago right after we moved into our house. It was terrible having to rip everything up and make sure nothing was damaged. To your point, at least you got to see all your old photos. They are so cute! I love looking back at old photos because it's amazing to see how far you've come and how some things have remained the same. Hope everything dries out soon:)

    You made me mourn. I already admired you: for the creativity that you got for all, for the amazing family, for your inner and outer beauty, for your precious daughters, for having married your high school sweetheart, and that the bonds are so strong. And you suddenly show up with all this in pictures, it makes me admire you even more. I love the life you lead and hope someday to be like you.
    I was just listening to a song called This lovin' thing and it seemed perfect for these photos; i would love that u hear it too.
    By the way, I hope all is saved from the flood. the photos are one of the most precious things, and never let us forget the wonderful it is and was our life.

    Oh man! Johnny so reminds me of this guitarist in a local band when I was in high school. My best friend and I were totally in love with him and went to every show. These old photos remind me so much of photos from that era, when we were young and awkward, but having so much fun. I love this peek back in time. Isn't it funny how hair cuts and colors can define certain times? I love your red hair, but you look beautiful regardless of the color!

    These are just fantastic! Good on you for getting them printed! Prints are so much more vulnerable to damage but there's no replicating their accessibility and nostalgic value. I'd love to hear the story of how you and Johnny met. You're the most adorable couple!

    Ah. He was in a band. So was my husband. . .6 different ones at different times (sometimes 3 bands at once with different people and different types of music). These are cute. I love looking at photos of people. You two have aged so well and look so great now (not that you didn't then, but you both look young for your ages anyway as it is).
    Glad you saved your photos as well as you could.
