This year the weather decided to be AMAZING the day we were going to color eggs, so we took our egg dyeing to the porch. This made Mama (me) extra happy, because I didn't have to worry about any spills inside of the house. We opened up the windows, put on a record, and truly enjoyed it. Well, most of us did... Poesy wasn't really
that into it. She mostly just colored the same egg with the same marker the whole time. In keeping with her typical self, Hope was into it enough for the both of them (and everyone else). ;)
It felt like a really perfect day. We always dye our eggs a few days before Easter, but I know a lot of people who dye them on Easter. Do you have any special egg dyeing traditions?
Happy Easter!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove that you've got something iced from Starbucks on the table there, I'm wishing for one right now :)
ReplyDeleteSweet girls, sweet eggs, sweet little face on Poesy with her orange marker. My little guy has been obsessed with an orange marker this week and just colors pages and pages with it. We did not color eggs with him this year, in fact the bunny overslept and almost didn't make it to town - but it all turned out just fine. :)
I love this plan!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely tradition, I wish my family did things like this!!

i always love seeing photos of you and your family. glad you guys had a fun day!
ReplyDeleteMy whole family (grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) gets together the day before Easter and we color them together. It's always a fun tradition, especially now that more and more children are getting added to the mix!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I have never done this, or ever heard of it before! When I was a kid my Gran used to make me decorate an Easter bonnet... Good look!
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a happy easter! xxx

We dye eggs with onion peels. And of course sometimes with markers etc, but it's super-hard to find nice colorful markers that are suitable for food (it doesn't seem too safe when a permanent ink "melts" into an egg).
ReplyDeleteSo fun!!
ReplyDeleteI love using crayons and then dyeing them because then the crayon pattern shows through. I miss dyeing Easter eggs!!
In our family me and my mama always dye the eggs alone (mama boils them and I dye) and our tradition is not to have any traditions! Every year we try something different. Because of that I enjoy Easter very much:) Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like you guys had a great time :)

I love your eggs! Dyeing eggs is probably one of my favorite holiday traditions, and I'd do dozens and dozens if only we could consume that many hard boiled eggs afterward. Growing up, we literally did dozens and dozens the night before at my grandparents house (since that side of my family would easily have 40+ people around for holidays and the eggs would get eaten quickly).
ReplyDeleteWe now generally try to do it at least the day before, if not a few days before. This year our Easter was wacky--I "made a phone call" since the boys and I would be in Texas w/o Sean for actual Easter, so the Easter Bunny came last weekend instead to our house in Portland. Yesterday, the boys enjoyed baskets from my Dad after having gotten baskets and goodies while visiting friends on Friday and Saturday. Spoiled, sure, but happy all around.
these are adorable and this looks like a blast
