CO: Part 1

As I mentioned last week, the trip to CO was met with a little bit of winter weather.  We originally planned to drive straight through on Sunday, but it turns out that a Prius isn't the ultimate car to drive in a blizzard.  We ended up staying overnight at a random hotel and finishing the drive the next day, and it was honestly better that way.  Seeing the Rocky Mountains in all of their glory left our jaws dropped to our knees.  It was one of those special times where you can't even believe the beauty in this world.
Our friends live way up in the mountains (over 10,000 ft) so Hope and I were dealing with some altitude headaches the first couple of days.  After that, the only issues we had were from exerting ourselves and feeling like there wasn't enough air.  You should have seen us sledding-- we looked like a bunch of slugs! (Well, except for Hope-- even snow can't stop the handstands.)
The week was full of some serious snow-play and time spent with our best friends (oh, and popcorn every night!).  Sometimes it's hard living far away from people you love so dearly, but I'm thankful to be able to see a new part of the country AND get some condensed quality time a few times a year.
