We used a mix on this one. I know, I know! It's almost like I said something dirty. Some people are all about made-from-scratch (and I understand that), but my goal for this project is time spent in the kitchen with the girls more than concocting amazing recipes. Soooo... for this post there is no recipe to share. Just little kitchen helpers and a sweet (dirty) Poesy face saying, "My help, too?"
Happy Valentine's Day, guys!
I'll be spending my day with these sweet girls, driving around passing
out treats and cards to all of our friends. I'm told there is a date in
the works sometime in the next couple of days with good ol' Mr.
Husband, so fingers crossed on that!
Oh my gosh this is so sweet!

Almost Endearing
That's so lovely, we made some banana muffins. With little ones the best bits are pouring mixing and of course licking the spoon. If they can do all those, they are happy....and eating them of course too :)
ReplyDeletemaking a mix is better than not making anything. my mom was never really into baking/cooking (literally we knew when supper was ready when the fire alarm went off) but the memories I have making brownie mixes (can't go wrong with just add water!) with her are so special to me. I bet your girls think the same.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks for that, Stephanie! We've all been enjoying our time in the kitchen together. :)
DeleteGood for you! It's not about being "fancy" all the time or doing something because it seems "more than" something else. Really! You are spending time with your two sweet girls making something with LOVE. That is the main thing. I love your blog because you always keep it real. Happy Valentine's Day to you and your family. Enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteIt's the spending time with them that counts :) I hope you have a lovely date with your hubby :)

Super cute! This actually seems like something I could make
ReplyDeleteHa so cute! Nobody ever said these treats had to be homemade!!
ReplyDeleteTrue, true!
DeleteI definitely agree that sometimes it's better to enjoy the time in the kitchen, and boxed brownies are just fine.
ReplyDeletehappy valentine's day!

I completely agree! I made crabcakes last night for my Valentine's day dinner with a quick and easy recipe and it gave us more time to spend afterwards eating and enjoying.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your blog and am slowly dropping hints to my boyfriend about us getting a shag rug...
love it! we are a 1/2 scratch kind of people. add a few extra ingredients to a box cake and it makes it so delicious.
ReplyDeleteOooh, yes! I totally agree!
DeleteCake mixes are so tasty, I don't know why anyone would bother making from scratch ;) xx
