I've been wanting a heart cut-out dress for a pretty long time now. It took me a while to pull the trigger because I didn't know how it would work with my tattoo. It turns out... it really doesn't. That won't stop me from wearing this dress, though-- I can throw a cardigan over it or a shirt underneath. It's the loveliest shade of sparkly silver-grey, not heather grey like I originally thought. Good cut + shimmer = a great dress (in my book). Oh yeah... also, shoes. I love these booties.
I hope you all have been having a fantastic week. Yay, it's almost the weekend! Maybe we should celebrate with pancakes!
I think it still looks great, even with the tattoo half covered up! Love your cardigan too~

Beautiful!! Blazer, dress, the hair and oh that tattoo!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a really sweet dress and I can see it being styled a bajillion different ways - good buy IMO even if your tattoo isn't 100% centered in the cutout! :)
ReplyDeleteYour hairdo looks so beautiful...I'm eagerly waiting for a new hair tutorial from you over at A Beautiful Mess, I really hope there are more to come!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! Hopefully soon!
DeleteThat jacket is a great color.

ReplyDeleteTattoo or not, that heart cut-out dress looks great on you! I love love LOVE that sweater! I might need to get one for myself. I love apples! :)
ReplyDeleteThat cardigan is amazing! You make anything work, lady!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress. The apple sweater is so cute.
ReplyDeleteyou're cuuuuuuuute Katie
ReplyDeleteYou are just the cutest ever.
ReplyDeleteI would love it if Utah would warm up, even just the tiniest bit, to be able to wear dresses with tights and a cardigan instead of leggings+ yoga pants + jeans on top of that - winter is pretty and all, but it sure gets tough to feel cute under so many layers!
I am IN LOVE with this cotton dress. TOTALLY my style. xo
ReplyDeleteSo this may be a weird question but I'm a lady and you are too so I think it's ok! I love this dress, but how do you pull it off without a bra? Or what kind of bra WOULD you wear? I hope that's not too weird of a question. Love your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteLandree, the back of this one doesn't come down THAT low, so I just lengthened my straps and pulled the back of my bra down. If it turned out that it didn't stay for long periods of time (I've only worn this dress with sweaters over it), I have one of those super low-back strapless bras and that would work, too! Hope that helps!
DeleteLove the cardigan and booties. Adorable :)
ReplyDeleteLove the cardigan. What a darling print.

That sweater is totally adorable! But I think this post should be called "Tomatoes to Tomatoes" :)
ReplyDeleteHaha- you are right! I guess I haven't looked closely at this print. I've been thinking they were apples for weeks! :)
DeleteLove this outfit, especially the blazer and fringe bootie combo! I to see the pattern as tomatoes though, haha :)

Your tattoo is so pretty. I would love to get a tattoo someday but, I am such a lover of change that I fear the moment I get one, I'll want something else : ) A while back, I came across someone who had their children's names down the backside of their arm-- right towards their wrist-- in hand-lettered script. It was beautiful. Now, that, the names of my children, I wouldn't ever tire of : ) Anywho, to the point of this comment: what does your tattoo say?
ReplyDeletep.s. So, after I left the comment above, I came across the designer of that tattoo I mentioned. And her designs are too beautiful not to share : ) If I get a tat, this gal is designing it!
