I've realized why people don't usually post pictures of the moving process... it's ugly! There's so much chaos and SO MANY boxes... well, who wants to see that? I have a few snapshots of what life has looked like over the past few days. We did get everything moved into the house, and now we are sorting, sorting and trying to get some order in our home. Poesy's room came together the fastest because she has the least amount of stuff. I'll be posting more pictures along the way!
I hope you're having a wonderful week so far!
Boy, am I familiar with that chaos! I can't imagine what it'll be like when I finally make the move to Portland from the SF bay area... I'm sure it'll look like a tornado disaster area for quite some time...
ReplyDeleteBest of luck moving; it looks like the girls are taking the upheaval pretty darn well! :)

I think it's nice to see pieces of real life and its chaos instead of just always pretend-perfect photos. so thanks!
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! You want to show everyone your new house but at the same time there is just to much mess. I'm right in it myself at the moment.
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying your new home! Good luck with the rest of the unpacking.

ReplyDeleteYou still manage to catch charm to your boxes of stuff though! There are still boxes of stuff in living room from last year, yeesh. Thanks for sharing the grueling process.
Did I just notice no less than 3 doll houses in those pics? Aww!!
ReplyDeleteOh and about the pictures, I'm sure there will be tons to shoot after things have settled down and everything is in it's place again! I love decorating a new place, all those new possibilities...

ReplyDeleteGood luck moving, even though its a crazy process.
We are in the process of moving too so I know exactly how you feel.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little collection of dollhouses! I have been following your blog for a few months now and I love it! I am truly enjoying your vintage and eclectic style, and you also homeschool! That makes you that much more awesome!

Oh girl, I know what you mean. We moved over the summer and it was chaos everywhere! I had very few cute photos to blog because everything was either in piles or packed in boxes. I hope the move is going well for you guys and that you love your new home! :)

That's the cutest/prettiest move I'VE ever seen. Maybe it's chaos for you but your little family is so adorable and you have such sweet things it kinda shines through.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful fireplace! Moving can be so stressful but at least you have little helpers! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that adorable little girl portrait you have leaning against the wall in your second photo! Is it thrifted, or is it something you purchased/received from am artist?
ReplyDeleteOy, I'm never moving again! Hang in there-- it'll all be done soon and it'll feel like it has always been home!
ReplyDeleteOh.My.God. I have the exact same dollhouse in my room from when I was little and moved over to a new house! Isn't it sooo cute?! BTW, I love your blog and you have such beautiful photography skills and subjects/things to take pictures of.
ReplyDeleteyour new house looks so cool! I hope the sorting goes quickly and smoothly. Moving is such a pain, even if it's to where you want to be. At least it is fun to set rooms up!
ReplyDeleteI just moved to a new house Thursday, and these were my thoughts exactly. A friend asked why I didn't post any moving pics on my blog... well, no one wants to see that! But if my house-in-moving-disarray was as nice as yours, I would post some. =)
ReplyDeletegirl i wish my ish looked like this when i moved.
ReplyDeleteThat teddy lamp in the first pic - I had one of those as a little girl. :)
ReplyDeleteMy apartment looks about like this right now, too! It's so exciting to see it all coming together but it is SUCH an undertaking! The place looks super cute, I bet it'll be so homey and nice when it's done!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely family
ReplyDeleteI love watching the process so keep on posting them. Its fun to see your progress! That living room is going to be great!
ReplyDeleteoh boy! that Littles doll house in the top photo, i have never seen anyone ever feature one before! i have the same one, my mother bought it plus all the furniture when they were on clearance way back when (late 70's?) and saved it for me 'til i was old enough to enjoy it. i love that you have one too!
ReplyDeletei am loving your new house, totally reminds me of the bungalow's that are all over salt lake city. can't wait to see it put together <3
I gave a "home" tour on my blog :P it's just one room obviously. Hello, college!
