Life, Etc.

This is my house book.  It contains all of our very real home options for the near future.  I have poured hours and hours (and maybe some tears) into finding the addresses in this book.  Tuesday we will be going and seeing these houses in person, but I only have one house on my mind.  Everything in me wants to drive to this house tomorrow and see it first thing in the morning, but I'm looking at this as a good opportunity to exercise my patience muscle.  That poor muscle doesn't get used nearly enough.  So, Tuesday it is.  If the house is still available, well, then I'll be jumping for joy.  If it is gone... well, then I'll be exercising that mature/grown-up muscle.  I'm not always strong in that area either.

  9. Well, I don't use my patience muscle often (if I ever used or have it) so I'll say congrats for being strong enough to wait, if I were you I would rush there saying "I need to go before somebody else takes it"
    Good lucky sweet Katie

  21. Went through this last year! We had contracts on 3 (at different times, obviously), we lost 2 bidding wars and finally settled (ugh, I hate that word) but I do like the house a lot but we can't do what I want to fix it up a bit because things keep breaking elsewhere that we have to blow our money on! Sorry for sharing the house hunting nightmare! It is fun to look though!Good luck!

  22. Katie, my husband and I just purchased our very first home together after months and months of searching for that perfect fit and total discouragement. We also have our first son, Logan, who is 7 months old, he is our joy! But, the stress that home searching brought to our plate far exceeded the stress a new child could have brought. I am so insanely overjoyed that the search is over and we are back to being a "stress free" happy family. Exercising the patience muscle and the disappointment ligament is a serious workout! Best of luck and wishes on your quest!! xo

  24. Good luck with your house hunt-think of it this way-at least you're able to house hunt; in my city, the average price of a detatched home is $760 000 and fixer-upers are at least $550 000, so it will be a loooooong time before I can house hunt :) Take care!

    1. Yes, that seems quite pricey! We are in a pretty cheap part of the country, so it makes buying and selling homes a little bit easier.

  26. Best of luck with all of the hunting! We had a similar stress with trying to find the perfect place, but we did in the end and it's better than we even thought it could be, so it'll all work out wonderfully for you I'm sure.

  27. Katie, I so remember house hunting. I drove my hubby crazy about all of the different homes and like you, I would drive around each time I thought I had found the one and look at it and think "This is it!" Each time I have bought a house it has always been the one I didn't really care to go in but did anyways. Funny how that worked. Good luck on your house hunting!! You will find it! :)
