Poe has a thing for babies, so I recently snagged her a 21" vintage baby doll from Ebay. After I removed its really old/dirty guts and replaced them with fresh/clean guts (stuffing), I handed my baby girl her new best friend.
You can't really choose what toys your kids attach themselves to, so when it happens, it's pure magic.
Aww,so sweet!
ReplyDeleteso cute. seems like it's time for number two...
ReplyDeleteno, that's your decision, but poe would love the new baby, i'm sure!
You've got the most beautiful daughter ever. :) And that last photo is just adorable!

It's almost my b-day! Check my last post out :)
I have a doll almost the exact same as that one! I still have it and I am 25, so I guess it goes to show attachment to that one particular toy can really last. I hope Poe gets plenty of joy from her.
ReplyDeleteThat is so special! I love that. :)
Deleteawww, how sweet and such a nice toy!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, they look like the perfect pair! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow precious! She is such a pretty girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie she is. I was never so much a fan of dolls as I was of Barbie and Sindy. I had everything - the dreamhouse, the Jaguar, the lot. Gutted I chucked the lot of it out when I 'grew up' x
ReplyDeleteI was a Barbie girl, too. When I was a teen my mom donated all of my Barbie stuff and I was DEVASTATED. I wish I still had some of that, but I guess you can't keep everything. ;)
Deleteso cute!!!

How sweet! I used to love baby dolls when I was young, but neither of my girls got into them {they were stuffed animal people lol}

That's adorable! I love the one of her kissing the doll!
ReplyDeleteMy sister used to have a doll who she called jeremy when we were little. She took it everywhere, so his "guts" got pretty dirty too lol
How cute! You must be such a proud mama:-)
ReplyDeleteWell this doll makes me rally scary, but the pics are lovely!
ReplyDeleteso sweet! is almost as big as her :)

Aww that's so sweet, my 2 year old has a tiny little doll she takes everywhere with her. My mother in law thrifted it and it was filthy to start with, it's wonderful what some TLC can do!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I can't decide which is the cuter doll. Of course it's the real live girl but the other one is beautiful too! Such a lovely face.

This is so insanely cute... like overloading on cuteness! I'm so glad you found her the perfect baby!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, she's a mini you. I loved my sit & spin. That picture is adorable.

That is so sweet. I love her new friend. My oldest, now 4, had a teddy bear that was her beat friend forever. She dressed her up and carried her everywhere. Then one day we left her at home and our dog ate her face. I preformed surgery and Mimi looked as good as new, only with a button nose. She never quite loved Mimi the same after that. She switches now between all of her toys.
ReplyDeleteWow, I rambled, sorry. I'm glad she has a good friend to hang out with!
Oh, no! Well, at least you were able to fix Mimi up. Something to keep forever. <3

so precious!! I was attached to two dolls that my grandma ended up keeping for years. they talked and sang and were about 3 ft tall. Corky and Cricket. Cricket and I often shared clothes. I finally had to talk my granny into putting them in storage or giving them away because the older I got- the creepier those things were. They scared the crap out of me. Surprisingly, Corky looked alot like Chucky.... Poe's new baby isn't scary though- so she should be good!
ReplyDeletexo- Magen crumpled fantasies
I really think that Chucky has really set the creep factor into people when it comes to dolls. I am a person who really likes dolls and I still find ones resembling Chucky kind of disturbing!
DeleteHow sweet!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh, so sweet! I grew up with this doll. I called her Victoria (my sister named her) and goodness did I love her. They still make her but she has gotten much smaller and more expensive. How cool to have found her on ebay and to have been able to clean her up! Lucky little lady!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! I think it's so neat that a couple people had this doll growing up. This is the first I've seen of her, but she has such a sweet face that I knew she'd be a good one!
Deleteisn't she the cutest thing? i say YES, & so is her darling sister. :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the picture on the spinner and the one with her giving the baby a kiss. Too precious.
ReplyDeleteAww this is the sweetest thing.
ReplyDeleteadorable! the baby doll is nearly identical to one my sister has and the my mom has kept which my little cousins now *adore* when they visit her house. dolls = love!
ReplyDeleteI remember I had an expensive American Girl doll, and I always went back to my classic doll that looked like this. A little thread and needle really brings them back to life.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, how adorable!

So cute ! When I was young i had a lot of that kind of dolls. I keep them for the time i will have children too.
ReplyDeleteYour girl is the cutest thing ever!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I was a blanket kind of toddler but I did love a baby doll my mother had kept. It was quite precious all in pink and lovely and what fascinated me was that it would not pee. I had to keep checking under its dress to make sure it didn't need a change of clothes.
ReplyDeleteGosh I had no idea I still remembered all that.. haha :)
Your girls are both so precious!
Oh my goodness, those black and white photos are absolutely adorbs!

I still have all my old dolls. They are so precious to me and I am happy that you giving your daughter things she will be able to keep for forever
ReplyDeleteThat is so totally cute!

That is so so cute. That last picture on the bottom right is perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Poe could not be any cuter! This is just precious.
ReplyDeleteShe is just gorgeous! I get what you mean by "can't choose what your kids attach to". When my nearly 4 year old daughter was born my partner's crazy aunt gave her a cheap (not terribly attractive) doll that was relegated to the toy box of random things. 4 years later "Baby" is still a favourite and has survived several repairs and even some ballpoint face tattoos!!
ReplyDeleteI gave my daughter my old Cabbage Patch kid, I popped her in the washing machine first and she came up a treat. She just loves her and pushes her around in her pram all day. I am glad it is getting double love over 2 generations.
ReplyDeletei love Poe's face in the last but one photo--that is total happiness right there :)
ReplyDeleteYour Posey is the most adorable little monkey! And Hope is such a pretty little girl. They are lucky to have a Mama who replaces baby guts for them :)
ReplyDeletehow big and really awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! She looks so happy with her little baby. I was a total girly girl growing up and I adored my dolls. I had so many Barbies and me and my sister would make up the craziest stories for them and they all had names. I've saved almost all my doll stuff in boxes up in the closet for any future daughters I may have :)
ReplyDeleteI always played with antique baby dolls when I was a child. My mom is pretty cool and gave me beautiful things to play with :)
