Weekly Wears: An Apple A Day

Remember that wedding I mentioned last week?  Oh, boy.  Don't get me wrong, the wedding was beautiful and it was wonderful to get to see that part of my family two weekends in a row, but I had an almost-catastrophe!  We got into town a day early and did some shopping, a lot of eating, and a tiny bit of swimming.  We were getting ready to head over to the wedding the next day and as I was digging through my bag when I realized that my dress was missing.  MY DRESS WAS MISSING.  I had packed everyone else's fancy clothes except for my own!  I freaked out a little (surprisingly less than I would have anticipated) and threw on one of the dresses I had bought the day before.  I was under-dressed in an over-sized sundress (I bought it knowing I had to take it in a bit), but I set all that aside and just enjoyed myself.  It could have been worse... I could have showed up to that wedding in the jeans or the bright red polyester dress I had in my suitcase.  ;)

Dress: c/o ModCloth;  Shoes: Shelly's London c/o ModCloth;  Belt: thrifted;  Barrette: Etsy

This outfit doesn't have anything to do with that wedding.  ;)

I seriously love these shoes.  I'm also picking them up in pink, because they are kinda my dream shoe.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far!!

  7. Yikes, that's a proper meltdown-worthy emergency! SO lucky you'd been shopping the day before! But as always, you panic over what to wear to weddings but once you get there and the party starts you forget all about it :)

I adore those shoes! I've been looking for some cute flat t-bars for ages! Off to Shellys I go, thanks for the tip :)

  9. That used to happen to me every time I packed for a trip when my kids were littler. Or I would forget to pack a slip for a dress that had to have it or is be showing my business, or just packing one shoe, that kinda thing. So don't feel bad cause it happens to the most organized of people. You look absolutely adorable in this one. How do you go about tracking down good thrift stores out of town?

    1. Surprisingly, shockingly comfortable. I was a little on the fence about them b/c they are patent and patent can tend to get hot (sweaty-- yuck), but I was pleasantly surprised when I slipped them on. They aren't very stiff and the soles are pretty cushy.

What a nightmare though! I'd have hated to be in the same situation as you but I don't think I'd have dealt with it as well as you did :p

  31. You look darling! I'm a sucker for novelty prints and this apple dress and your circus dress are making my shopping freeze really difficult :) I had that happen once, I left my dress for a wedding at home and was in a super small town with NO shopping. Disaster.

  32. Oh, that happened to me before! I had to buy a dress in the little town where the wedding was held and luckily found something semi-formal. Otherwise all I had were sweatpants!

Love you style! You're an inspiration!
