Pinterest is so good for recipes. I mean, it's really great for lots of things, but anytime I'm telling someone about Pinterest, I always have to mention all of the food on there. It helps me find new recipes and keep them semi-organized. Oh! And let's not forget MOTIVATING me to make said recipes by dangling mouth-watering pictures in front of my face. Sometimes I need that. Otherwise I flip through my recipe book, feel indecisive, and then we get take out. Okay, if I'm really being honest here, I don't
actually flip through my recipe book. I just think about flipping through it. ;)
Okay, okay, so most of my pins are either desserts or breads, but those are some of the things I love most in life. I guess I should start pinning more meals...
How about you, do you use Pinterest for meal planning? If you have any extra-delicious recipes, please share! We sure love food in this house...
Happy Friday! xoxo Katie
**I'm not the best at keeping up with Pinterest, but if you are interested, you can find me here. :)
I've never checked out pinterest but I think I now have to definatly check it out! I'm always needing more pastry recipes :D -cindy

Um yum! My favorite thing about pinterest is food too. I have already found a million easy recipes through that super addictive website that I've basically curated a cook book made just for me! It's also led me to so many great foodie and crafty blogs. Whom I now read and eat on an almost daily basis! My bloglovin' is now over flowing with new subscriptions!
ReplyDeleteThese are some real goodies, I love me some homemade pretzels. Thanks for sharing!
Oooooh yes I'm definitely a lover of Pinterests food stuff. I'm currently planning on making these churros with chocolate dipping sauce. It looks so easy and amazing!

I was in a recipe rut (same few recipes over and over again), and now thanks to pinterest my boyfriend and i take turns trying a new recipe every week that we find on pinterest. It's a huge motivator.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with pinning recipes, mine seem to mostly be desserts too though! The best savoury thing I ever pinned was this salt and vinegar chickpea recipe from Oh She Glows: http://ohsheglows.com/2010/08/03/easy-salt-vinegar-roasted-chick-peas/ YUM!
ReplyDeleteI got a recipe organizer in wich I put every recipe I would like to cook from magazines, books, etc. I love to flip trough it (and I really do that) and I also mark the most delicious recipes but.....we mostly end up cooking one of the, let's say, about 10 meals that works best with our little girl.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to use Pinterest for is food too. And it's the thing I actually make after pinning :) It's so good for remembering party ideas and finding unique desserts! Bad when I'm hungry though!
ReplyDeleteMmm, yes! Pinterest is great for food ideas! I also find it useful for all of my wedding and craft ideas, and just for making note of pictures and things that I love!
ReplyDeleteAnd I also love desserts, but I have a bit of a thing for soup as well, like this Black Bean + Butternut Soup. YUM!

I love Pinterest for recipes! It's really all about the yummy pictures, it's why I find myself there instead of another recipe website. I'm a very visual person, so photos make all the difference between whether I make something or not. I love that you can type in "chicken" or "healthy food" and oodles of beautiful photos pop up.
ReplyDeleteI love Seven Spoons blog, it's full of wonderful recipes!
ReplyDeleteYummmmmmy! At first I thought the black chocolate pudding was a coke float... sure looks like it! XD
ReplyDelete▲▼▲ VALOUR AND LACE
I also pin mostly desserts! I have some pastas though too...

I pin mostly desserts too probably because I have a really sweet tooth and a lot of the time I am craving chocolate.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo looks amazing--I am going to have to pin that.
I know, I'm addicted too. I love how you can organize everything on your boards. I actually need to add more so I can put them in more specific catagories. I have tried more recipes from there and I actually posted a clam chowder recipe that is awesome. You should check it out.

I do use Pinterest for meal planning. Actually just did a post on it this week:

All of this looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI just started a "Yummy In My Tummy" pinboard if you want to go check it out! http://pinterest.com/cieraholzenthal/yummy-in-my-tummy/
ReplyDeleteI think I'm just obsessed with food photography. I Think half of the time I just cook so I can take cool pictures of it. Too bad the most photogenic foods will eventually give me the diabetes.
ReplyDeleteI have been cooking so much more now that I can just hop on pinterest! I'll type in the meat I took out of the freezer or just one ingredient I have and a whole slew of amazing recipes come up - and you know if someone pinned them they must be good!
ReplyDeletethis is one of my fall back dinners that my kids and hubs both like http://justaclare.blogspot.com/2012/01/last-nights-dinner-sloppy-joe-pizza.html
ReplyDeleteIt's funny but Pinterest has become my meal planner since a few months ago. Pretty much everything I make is from a recipe I found on Pinterest. So funny! One of my favorite meals to make is this one: http://pinterest.com/pin/232216924505957592/ (Sweet Potato Black Bean burgers....SO GOOD!)
ReplyDeleteAnd I have SO MANY desserts pinned that I still have yet to try. I'm trying to cut back on sugar but those delectable recipes make it so hard.
I love all the recipes on there... I do get a little tired of seeing all the unhealthy weird foods on there but I am thrilled to find new ideas and combos!
ReplyDeleteKacie
I just made this last night - super good and easy, and makes a ton. You can kind of add whatever veggies you want to it, and could save the sriracha for the top instead of mixing it in (as your kids would probably not dig the spiciness)!

I think I am on Pinterest a little too much... I have found that there are a lot of gluten-free recipes on there as well, so it is becoming a huge resource for me in that area.
ReplyDeleteI love Pinterest but haven't really looked at the food category. I will definitely be taking a look now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love using Pinterest to find healthy recipes (and the occasional not-so-healthy, haha). There are just so many to try!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my healthy board: http://pinterest.com/mandypants/healthy-healthy/
And my "indulgent" board: http://pinterest.com/mandypants/the-yummies/
I have a rule not to go on Pinterest if I'm hungry!
ReplyDeleteIm so hooked on Pinterest! The food, the crafts...it totally sucks you in :) It's the sweets that always get me!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Joy the Baker just the loveliest?
ReplyDeleteI heard an NPR story about Pinterest the other day, and, when describing it, they talked about style and products, home decor and organization, and COMPLETELY LEFT OUT all the scrumptious looking food. I was shocked and saddened. Get it together, NPR! ;)
You are so inspiring and beautiful! I really love your art work and whole blog - genious! You are my inspiration! Thank you so much :)

I had a pinterest account, but deleted after reading this on tumblr (http://world-shaker.tumblr.com/post/18558981520/the-reason-i-just-deleted-my-pinterest-account) I'd rather blog my favourites with permission I think. I save all the rest on my faves. ^_^
ReplyDeletemy husband has a pinterest and i'm loving it because he cooks incredible stuff all the time because of it! not that he didn't cook before, but he does so much more often now!
ReplyDeleteOh man, Pinterest is THE BEST for recipes! I am the laziest cook and baker ever, but a pretty picture on Pinterest is all it takes to get me in the kitchen! In the past month I have probably made 20 recipes, and they've all been pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteYummy! I have a Pinterest but I use it mostly for clothes, hairstyles and architecture, since I'm no good in the kitchen. Maybe I should change that :P
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Pinterest, it's so great for stuff like this :)I always end up pinning the breads and desserts too, and the hot chocolates, coffees etc.. yum!
ReplyDeleteI <3 Pinterest! I think it's my newest addiction! I love how many boards you have!

ReplyDeleteYUM! i love pinterest check out my blog for a link to follow me :)
ReplyDeleteMy issue with Pinterest is that the pictures might look waaay delicious, but the description doesn't always say what the picture actually IS.
ReplyDeletethat's mainly what i use pinterest for! i have a food board, but i also have a board for the recipes i make up ("my stuff" board: http://pinterest.com/marlagrace/)!!
