Friday Favorites: St. Patricks Day

Hooray, it's Friday!  St. Patrick's Day is this Saturday, so I thought it would be fun to share an all-green Friday Favorites!

1.  This green dress from ModCloth would keep any gal from getting pinched!

2.  This Key Lime Cake from Life, Etc. would be so yummy any day!

3.  I'm smitten with this Mellie Bianco bag from Lulu's... St. Paddy's day or not.

4.  This coaster DIY from Sincerely, Kinsey is so great!

Okay, truth time:  the only reason I celebrate St. Patrick's Day is because of Hope.  If it weren't for her I'd wear a smidge of green so strangers at the grocery store don't pinch me (yes, I have been pinched by multiple strangers on SPD) and probably forget it was even a holiday.  Hope makes it fun, though.  We eat green foods all day, she dresses head-to-toe in green, and she makes up fun little games and decorations.  That's the beauty of innocence... everything feels magical and fun.  I love it.  It's contagious.  :)

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend!  xoxo Katie

  4. I love the idea of St. Patrick's Day. I don't really know what it's about and probably only people in the USA celebrate it. But I love the idea of celebrating a colour in a day. Lovely ideas!

  6. Sounds like you will have a great day--we don't really celebrate it over here, and I haven't since university where it meant a proper knees up--good times!

  10. It's all about the kids. I remember not going to kids birthday parties or celebrating anything (except Christmas and Thanksgiving) until we had kids. Now it gives me a reason and I love it =) I hope you get that green dress because it would be SO cute on you.

  12. First of all, let me say thank you on behalf of the Irish people for calling it St Patrick/Paddy's Day as opposed to Patty's day. We can't understand why some people insist on calling it Patty's day seeing as Paddy is the short version of Patrick.

Secondly, why are people pinching you on SPD?! I have never heard of that before, it's definitely not a thing in Ireland!

And finally, that dress is stunning :)

  13. Loving that coaster DIY! I don't really care for St. Patty's Day, but when kids in my high school still walk around looking for people to pinch, I almost HAVE to wear green!

  18. Trust me, these amazing green things are the only thing that keep me from hiding under my bed every St. Patricks Day. I have this nightmare from my childhood, when I could never remember to wear green, so all SPD I would be repeatedly pinched (hard!) all day, and be crying by the end of the school day. The cake looks absolutely scrumptious!!

  19. Are you kidding me?! What can be more fun than St. Patrick's Day? Okay, well, I guess a lot of things, but green is maybe my favorite color, (I have a hard time choosing just one) and my name is Mac, so... Seriously! Yay!

(Side note: I currently live in northeast Ohio, near Cleveland, and none of my friends here have ever heard of the pinched thing! What's up with that?!)

  21. Your making me wish I lived in Cleveland! It's some weird tradition, and apparently it not only happens in sunny Florida, but in the midwest too.
