Hello again, everyone! It's Hope here! Today I would like to share a story from when I was about 6. We were at the Strange Folk festival and there was a PETTING ZOO! There were dogs, cats, and Alpacas! The alpacas were in their own cage. There was a man outside of the cage and he said it was alright if I went in the cage to pet the alpacas. I was a little nervous but the man assured me that they were friendly and would not bite. I decided to trust the man and go in. There were two of them in there-- a black one and a white one. I decided to pet the white one. But as I reached my hand out to pet it
IT KICKED ME!!!!
(My mommy accidentally got this picture right when it happened!)
After it happened I went straight out of the cage. I was crying a little (mostly because I was scared) so we went to a bench and sat until I decided I was okay. Then we went and saw a magic show and I hula hooped and played in a sandbox. Then we when home. About a week later in Kindergarten we did a class project where we wrote what we were afraid of and all the other kids were afraid of ghosts and witches, but I was afraid of an alpaca.
Well, that's the whole story. I hope you enjoyed it! See you next time! --Hope
Hope, that is so scary!! What a brave girl you are. That alpaca must've eaten something yucky for breakfast and was super cranky. There's no other explanation for why he would be mean to such a cool girl like you!
ReplyDeleteOh no!! I can't believe that alpaca!! I am glad that you weren't hurt! That must have been super scary! PS Love your drawing!!
ReplyDeleteI will remember to mind their legs next time I see one!
ReplyDeleteHope, you are such a great story teller! I'm sorry that the alpaca kicked you, how rude! I'm going to be careful the next time I'm around any alpacas.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Aside from being traumatizing, this experience is also quite humorous! I was so excited to meet alpacas when I went to Peru this past May. He was darling & then I turned my back & he MOUNTED ME. Needless to say I was horrified & my intense fondness for alpacas now has been quashed. http://sewmuchsunshine.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
ReplyDeletehave a great day!
Hope! This was an awesome story! The ending was super hilarious!
ReplyDeleteyour drawing made me giggle. not because he kicked you (that is very sad indeed) but because your picture is so cute!
ReplyDeleteHope I'm glad you're ok that Alpaca was surely crabby. Your story was greatly told and the picture you drew to prove it is the coolest.
ReplyDeleteOh no poor Hope! What a rude little alpaca.
ReplyDeleteHope, your picture made me giggle, too! It's a fantastic drawing and I love that you wrote "ahhh!" over it. I'm so sorry you got kicked by the alpaca, though. If your mom wants to show you, there's a great old Sesame Street video on YouTube called "Me and my Llama" where a girl takes her pet llama to the dentist. I watched it when I was little and think it's really fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you guys liked it!
ReplyDeleteHope
Oh no :-(
ReplyDeleteIm sorry the Alpaca kicked you, that must have been scary :-(
Your drawing is so cute!
I love your picture, Hope! That Alpaca was probably more afraid of you than you are of him so I wouldn't worry. ;)

ReplyDeleteHope, that picture you drew is wonderful! It made me giggle. I can't believe that silly alpaca- You were so brave to go in to pet them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this story with us!

Hope! I'm scared of ostriches for a similar reason. One bit my finger when I was four years old. It really hurt!
ReplyDeleteI love your drawing. ;)
Once when I was about your age I went to pat a camel and it spit at me! I don't like camels that much anymore. Animals can be unpredictable. I'm glad he didn't ruin your day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic story! And the picture... I laughed so much I cried a little (in a good way). Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletea horse stepped on my friend's foot once. it scared her too. great drawing hope!
ReplyDeleteOnce when I was little I got bit by one of those tiny horses. We had stopped to pet the horses at a lady's farm, and while my mom was talking to her the tiniest pony started biting my leg! I still have a hard time going near horses.
ReplyDeleteTo Dearest Hope, I feel your "aahhh" When i was 6ish i fed a kangaroo for the first time, its nails were so long it scratched my arm. I still have the scar and i am quite a bit older now (shhh 33yrs) I still love how beautiful the roos are but i keep my distance now xx
ReplyDeletehi hope! sheesh...what a nasty little thing. he must have been cranky that day! one time i got bit by a hampster so i'm kind of scared of them now too!
ReplyDeletei got attacked by goats when i was little at the petting zoo, and am still scared of them to this day (and i'm 29)!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your post once again!!
Good job Hope!
<3
eek! what a mean little animal! i'll have to be careful if i ever meet any around where I live. i love that you blog!
ReplyDeletehttp://breatheandhush.blogspot.com/
also, i got butted by a goat when I was little! with it's horns. it hurt so bad!!!
ReplyDeleteoh no, poor hope! i love alpacas... though, maybe just for the super soft & wonderful yarn they produce.
ReplyDeleteBesides that darn alpaca it seems like you had a fun time! Hula hooping is something my younger sister did for a while and got really good at it. You should ask your momma sometime to show you videos of people dancing with hula hoops, I wish I wasn't so clumsy so that I could do it too..
ReplyDeleteThanks for another blog post! I'd love to see more of your drawings again, that alpaca one is way better than any alpaca I could ever draw!
Must be traumatic! Looking forward to your next post Hope!

ReplyDeleteHmm, that must have been so scary :( But I love the drawing and this post. And I guess a lot of people with me!
ReplyDeleteOh, that naughty Alpaca! Maybe one day you'll find a friendly alpaca to pet so you won't be afraid of them anymore.
ReplyDeleteGreat storytelling Hope!
The same thing happened to my little sister when she was about your age! Except she was kicked by a goat. She has learned that the goat only did it because he was scared of HER, too. Now she's friends with goats. Maybe one day you'll meet a super nice alpaca who's a bit more friendly c:
ReplyDeleteAw, Hope you're a great story teller but I'm sorry you had a bad alpaca experience! When my mom was a little girl she met a llama, and he stole one of her earrings. I think that before these guys get to hang out with people they might need an etiquette class :)
ReplyDeleteYikes! That's one scary alpaca! Great post :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I am so sorry that Alpaca kicked you Hope. I am glad you got to turn that scary experience into such a lovely drawing though. I think things becomes less scary when you share how it made you feel, and art is such a good way to do this:)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait till your next post Hope. You always have the best stories.
Awww, Hope! I'm sorry that the alpaca kicked you! I would have been scared too! On the bright side, your drawing of that mean alpaca is lovely. <3
ReplyDeleteTeehee! Such a post, Miss Hope-y. What a mean old alpaca, too. He must have been in a bad mood... probably wanted pancakes for breakfast but got crummy old hay instead.
