Music Monday: Smashing Pumpkins
Once when we were in high school Johnny broke up with me. I can't remember much about that time now, except that I was A WRECK. Crying... sick... being totally dramatic and pulling totally dramatic teenager stunts. We ended up getting back together on Halloween. I can't say for sure that we listened to this song that night, but I would be surprised if we didn't. We lived and breathed this album for years. Anyway, remind me to tell you more about our awesome breakup sometime. I ended up getting a death-threat out of the deal. ;)
Happy Halloween!

Feather Lanterns
I did a guest blog this week over at my friend Laura's corner of the blog world. You can check it out here. :)
It's very, very simple, but oh-so pretty! We are off to get ready for a Halloween bonfire. I hope you all have a great Saturday! xoxo Katie

Feature Friday: Baby On The Way
No, no... I do not have a baby on the way. Let's just make that VERY clear. I love my baby to pieces, but no more babies for Katie. I'm talking about my friend Rachel's new e-course "Baby on the Way". I've had the pleasure of seeing it first hand and I have to say, it's SO good! I'm not just saying that because I love the gal, either. It really has so many great projects! My favorite part about this e-course is that it's not just for expecting families. I plan on doing most of the projects for Poesy, and maybe a couple for some extra special baby gifts for friends.
Before I dove in I was feeling a little intimidated by all of the sewing that I thought I would need to do, but the projects are ones that I feel I can tackle... which is saying a lot for me, because I am pretty good these days at the hand stitching, but I am no expert when it comes to the sewing machine.
Anyway, I thought this course was so sweet that I wanted to share. I'm pretty excited about the baby Christmas gifts I'll be sewing up this year. Watch out, Poesy... mama's going for a handmade Christmas! ;)
I hope your weekend is just wonderful, friends! xoxo Katie
P.S. I keep forgetting to announce the giveaway winner, so here she is:
P.P.S. Did any of you see the end of that baseball game last night? It was way too intense for me, but I'm glad the Cardinals won. It makes my husband very happy. ;)

Weekly Wears: Carnival
Whenever I wear this dress I feel like I should be going to a fun carnival... which makes me hungry for popcorn... which makes me wish for a glass bottle Coke...
Dress & Shoes: c/o ModCloth
T-shirt: A Ray Lamontagne concert
Tights: Target
Necklaces: Handmade
Bracelets and Flowers: Vintage
I'm pretty sure I need to visit a carnival soon... not for the rides, really. I mostly go for the food. Maybe I'll even wear this dress. xoxo Katie

Odds and Ends
Things around our house have been quite chaotic lately. We are in the process of trying to either rent or sell our house, and that makes having a messy house a big problem. We (I) always have many projects going at once, Poesy has just discovered how to spread her toys allllllllll around, and Hope is my accidental book-leaver-outer (which is a problem when all of your school books live at home). We're a pretty untidy bunch. We try, but it would be helpful if just ONE of us was good at keeping up with organization. I mean, really... there is a sweater hiding SOMEWHERE in my bedroom and I cannot find it anywhere. It's driving me nuts. I just had it last week.
This is where it would make sense for me to post a picture of my crazy-messy home, but that would be embarrassing, so you get this:
This is Hope's Halloween costume that I've been working on. We bought the vintage dress off of eBay for $6 or so. Hope wasn't too sure about it because she wanted something with SPARKLE(!), but I knew it could jazzed up quite a bit. I still have a sleeve to finish and a hat to make before Monday, but I'm so happy with the way it is coming together. And the most important part: Hope is happy with the way it is coming together!

Pumpkin Patch
As I mentioned last week, we had the pleasure of visiting the pumpkin patch with the Denbows. There was a fun corn maze, games for the kids, and pony rides! It really was a great time and I especially love that our kids are becoming sweet, little friends. :)
It was a lovely day. How was your weekend? xoxo Katie

Baby You're a Ragdoll
Just in case you haven't seen it, Hope and I did a fun ragdoll costume DIY over on A Beautiful Mess this week! We had a lot of fun with this one!
You can see the whole DIY on Elsie's blog! It's pretty easy and great for a last-minute Halloween costume!
We're off to the pumpkin patch tonight! I'm so excited because the pumpkin patch is one of my very favorite Fall traditions and this year we'll be sharing it with those lovely Denbows. Have a great weekend!

ModCloth Blogger of the Moment
You heard it right! I'm so honored to say that I am the ModCloth Blogger of the Moment!
I've shopped at ModCloth for years now and I'm giddy to introduce my very own namesake dress:
Dress: Skunkboy Creatures Dress c/o ModCloth, Shirt: Red Velvet, Cape: Handmade (gift from my MIL),
Tights: We Love Colors, Shoes: c/o Blowfish Shoes (you can see the panda DIY here), Necklace: Skunkboy Creatures (me), Flowers: handmade from Elsie's wedding (from my bouquet)
I really am ecstatic about this, especially since you and I both know that I'm definitely not a fashion blogger. I like to do my outfit posts weekly, but I couldn't even imagine keeping up with gals that post 4 and 5 outfits a week! I feel like I don't say it enough, but I'm very thankful for all of you who actually take the time to come by and read my blog and comment. It means a whole lot to me. You are great.
Have a great day, friends! xoxo Katie

Weekly Wears: Hello, Kitty
What's that? Oh, you noticed. Yes, that is me. Yes, I am wearing shorts. It's a stretch for me, but sometimes you just have to jump out of your comfort zone (or fashion box... whatever).
Sweater: UO, Shorts: c/o Emerging Thoughts, Belt: ModCloth,
Tights: We Love Colors, Purse & Shoes: Thrifted,
Necklace: Laurel Hill, Hairpiece: c/o Sunshine and Carousels
Don't you think every sweater could benefit from a kitty face on the back? Sewing party, anyone? ;)
I hope your Tuesday is peachy! xoxo Katie
