Oh, this dress... I've had this dress since the beginning of summer. It was supposed to be my breezy summer staple. It was not. I have not worn this dress even once before today. I styled it so many different ways, but no matter what I came up with it always looked... well, kinda like a wedding dress. Maybe it didn't look as much like a wedding dress as it did in my head, but it's like they say-- confidence is your best accessory. Walking around as an everyday bride did not showcase my confidence. I refused to be defeated by this dress, and eventually I conquered it. Yay for me.
Lace Dress: Vintage; Orange Dress: Marshall's; Shirt: Hanging in my closet forever; Necklace: Gift from my MIL; Hat: Marshall's; Scarf: Vintage ; Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell borrowed from Elsie
I'm glad I didn't give up and resell it. I was thiiiiis close... ;)

Those shoes are to die for! I adore the entire outfit, so cute.
ReplyDeletei love your style, katie! i think you put this outfit together perfectly!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! YAY for defeating the beautiful, hard to wear dress. ;) Right now, I am having one heck of a time dressing up my little white and black vest. It's tiny and is made to go over a t-shirt or long sleeve shirt, or possibly even a tank top, but I have NOTHING that it looks good with. >.< Such. a. pain!
ReplyDeleteThis is really awesome. I love how you layered it all and the colors are so great.
ReplyDeleteI have many pairs of little nylon socks that I sooooo long to wear with shoes. You know? The cute little ankle socks models with skinny ankles wear with dress shoes. Well my ankles arent the problem I just cant work up the nerve. Or the right outfit. YET.
ReplyDeletei hate it when that happens! such a waste of a lovely piece of clothing. this dress looks great on you though--love the layering:)
ReplyDeleteYes, I have this adorable dress that is crochet at the top and a lovely tulle material as the skirt. I have the same problem that it looks a little too much like a wedding dress or something! I love how you styled this dress. I really get a boho feel and it does not look like a wedding dress at all! You look fabulous! :)
ReplyDeleteFAB shoes! So sweet! xxx
ReplyDeleteKatie! You are gorgeous! I love this outfit, so much.
