Weekly Wears: Posies and Poppies

With the heat of the summer, my favorite beauty trick lately has been bright lipstick.  I mean, you sweat off the rest, but the lipstick can still make you look (and feel) put together.  I like it.


Dress: borrowed from Elsie
Belt:  thrifted
Shoes:  Blowfish
Necklace:  Urban Legend

I haven't really been into the milkmaid braids on myself, though I do love them on other people.  I decided to try them today for a change, and I actually liked them!  I stuck some colorful flowers in the braids and felt like a million (sweaty) bucks.  ;)  Seriously though, having my hair off my neck was wonderful.  This will be one of my go-to hairstyles for a while.

    that's such a cute idea for milkmaid braids! i also don't like them on myself because i have such thin hair, they don't stand out.

    i love the flower crown! when it's hot i usually put my hair up in braids as well. makes me feel so much better!

    This outfit and flower crown is beautiful! I've been trying to do braids on myself and actually frenched braided my hair for the first time last week b/c I was so sick of the ponytail or just letting it go wavy in this heat. Great look dear!

    At some point earlier this summer you did a tutorial on two messy buns held up with bands and bobby pins. That has become my go-to hairstyle for the past month. I've added french braids, twists, glittery clips, whatever to make it seem a little different each day, but with thick, long, curly hair and 100 degree weather, you've saved my summer!!

    i like the print on your dress! i have not mastered the milkmaid braids yet, so i usually put my hair up in a topknot bun, and wear loose dresses and sandals!
