I'd love to hear what you all are doing over the weekend! We are staying with some friends tonight and (hopefully) eating a delicious pancake breakfast in the morning. *hint, hint* I really want to see the new
Alice in Wonderland movie in 3d. Have you seen it yet? Is it too icky for a 7 year old who loves creepy things? I'd be interested in your opinions. Keep in mind Hope loves Coraline, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, etc...
I feel like it's necessary to wait and see it in 3d, though. They do have a certain magic about them, don't you think?
I'm off to do things and things and things. Oh! Look at my crazy hair! I started showering before bed and gave up the blow dryer, and this is what has happened:
I kinda love it. It's so easy. I straighten my bangs, add a few waves to the top, and start my day!
Happy Friday! xoxo Katie
Definitely not too creepy for a 7 year old, I took my 2 and 5 year old and they were laughing through the whole thing... hrmm, maybe I just have weird kids?? lol. ahh well, I'd say take her and have fun! ;)
ReplyDeleteHa, we have a first big blogmeet in Belgium. About 40 female bloggers from Belgium (a few from the Netherlands) will come Sunday to Ghent. All crafty women. I'm excited!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I'll go to Antwerp to get myself some ingrediënts for a little snack I'll be bringing with me to Ghent.
So a 'Blogmeet'-themed weekend for me!
Hm, I also want to see Alice in Wonderland... but I hate the fact that cinema keeps asking more money. I don't like their economythoughts. But I'd really like to see it in 3D, so maybe I'll go see it.
LOVE the hair!!! That's probably my favorite way to do it...simple & easy. & Hope will definitely enjoy Alice...there are a couple cool parts, one at the beginning that was Tim Burton's first little unexpected addition to a colorful film...not very gory at all though. I hope you enjoy it! =)
ReplyDeleteAlice in Wonderland was great in 3D. Me and my 6 yr old loved it. Coraline scares her but she loved Alice. The Fat Boys are awesome!! Hope you get to see it!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is gorgeous, I'm quite jealous of the way it waves. I got mine cut recently and the pieces are a little unruly.
ReplyDeleteThe movie really isn't creepy, it's gorgeous and beautiful and wonderful. The dresses on Alice are absolutely fantastic and I would say DEFINITELY see it in 3d.
My weekend so far consists of giving my car up for the day tomorrow so they can fix it and give it a little oil change. Darn this new toyota and the recall. I'm so lucky it hasn't stuck though.
hope has to see it!
ReplyDeleteit's creepy, but it's tim burton so that's to be expected. it's way funny and wonderful, tho.
those pictures of you are the cutest!
I personally loved Alice!! It was not as creepy as I have seen Tim Burton be...it was actually quite magical. Hope will love it and so will you! I didn't see it in 3d, but it was still wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend :)
XOXO
I haven't seen Alice yet, but my mom said it's as wonderful as the fairytale with that extra bit of 'darkness' you can expect from the previews. If Hope loved Coraline, I think she'll love Alice! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute hair!! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend with a 6 year old who LOVED it. Totally take her. And totally keep doing that with your hair...it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Alice either.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love your hair, I wish mine would look like that in the morning.
You are really lucky. =)
Alice was awesome in 3D, I saw it last weekend. And I think your daughter will really like it! I'm going to a basketball game tonight which is out of character for me. Have a fun weekend, and your hair looks super cute!!
ReplyDeleteYou are totally A-Dorable!! Your hair is fabulous! I am going to see the movie tonight and I can't wait. It is still by Disney so I am sure your daughter would love it!
ReplyDeleteAlice is a beautiful movie, my daughter and I went the last Sunday and she just loooove the Cheshire "blue" cat!
ReplyDeleteAnd the flowers look so pretties in 3D!
Enjoy it :)
Alice is NOT creepy! It's typical Burton..and is she loves those other movies, she'll have a blast! I'm off to a cabin for a weekend...woot!
ReplyDeleteYou all will LOVE alice. It's not too creepy at all. However if you wanna save a couple of dollars it is not really worth it in 3D. That being said I was stuck in the very front row and it was probably an entirely different movie from that view! Have fun! :)
ReplyDelete3d is so worth it ! it was probably the best 3d movie ive seen in a while, & i think hope would be fine (: my nine year old sister went and is now making my mom buy her all alice and wonderland stuff lol.
ReplyDeletehope you have a great weekend (:
-xoxo kelsey
this may sound terrible but my almost 4 year old LOVES tim burton...edward scissorhands, nightmare before christmas, the corpse bride...she also loves coraline...but i'm nervous to take her to see Alice cause of all the parent comments i've read online...SO point of my comment, take Hope to it, I'm sure she can handle it and let me know how REALLY scary it is :-)
ReplyDelete<3kelly
have a wonderful weekend. have always loved your color and saw a pic of you recently with blond hair and red DOES look so rad on you. You have hair color and texture like mine, maybe I am due for some red soon.
ReplyDeletehappy weekend.
xo
I wish my hair looked like that! Have a very similar cut myself but was apparently 'blessed' with poker straight hair haha!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I will be doing an outdoor photoshoot with some new models, and going snowboarding on Sunday. All in all, awesome weekend! Have fun!
I think Coraline was much, much scarier than Alice. I personally didn't feel that much of a Tim Burton presence in Alice oddly enough and I saw it in 3D and wasn't that impressed. Nothing really ever popped out or anything. There were maybe 3 or 4 things like that. Otherwise it just made the screen look deeper. But it is fun to get to wear the glasses! :)
ReplyDeleteI am working & hoping to spend lots of time in my sewing room making new skirts for my shop. I want to see Alice sooo bad & my kids love creepy kid movies as well!(Coraline is my daughters favorite!)I am thinking next weekend it is going to be a must do (see Alice that is)! I think my favorite thing about Coraline is I drive the same car. :) Have a great weekend!! p.s. annnd your hair is adorable.. I am working on growing mine back out after having it short for quite awhile.
ReplyDeleteI just saw it last night with my 3 (almost 4) year old sister who also loves creepy things and was super excited for the movie. She behaved perfectly, and we both loved every minute of it!
ReplyDeleteaugh! you're the cutest! Do you use hair product? When I don't blow dry I turn into a frizzy Hermione Granger mess...
ReplyDeleteTonight The Husband made a yummy dinner and I'm gonna work on a card order!
hope is 7? i thought she was 17! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're pretty. :)
ReplyDeletei have a friend coming to visit this weekend, i am sooo excited to see him! i can't wait to see Alice. Your hair looks really pretty. i have naturally curly hair & i never touch it with a blow drier.
ReplyDeleteI love when my hair behaves like that and I only have to curl the top sections. We are out to find fish for our tank. Our first one was destroyed in our house fire (don't feel bad, it was a blessing in disguise) and we miss having a little underwater community. It's just too bad you can't make fish tanks look "vintage" or "shabby chic". They always come out looking "early 90's bachelor pad". So it will be in the office and soon the house will be buzzing with my 15 mo. old boy whispering "fish, fish, fish".
ReplyDeleteYou're hair looks fantastic and have a blessed weekend!
PS
any suggestions on the fish tank?
Hi Katie!!..I loved Alice in Wonderland!!..I feel that your daughter would love it!!..it's not too creepy at all,,it's very magical!!!
ReplyDeleteyour hair is awesome!!!..love all the volume!!! wish my hair did that!!
Oooh, your hair is quite adorable! You're lucky you have a good curl... when I go to bed with wet hair, I... I can't even describe the horror. I usually have a bald spot somewhere too. lol
ReplyDeleteI wish my hair would wave like that when I leave it to its own devices. It ends up slightly poofy on the sides and flat on top.
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd enjoy this cute animated clip and Sarah Blasko :)

omg..your hair looks so cute! love it!
ReplyDeleteJust got back from seeing Alice. I don't necessarily think the creepiness would bug your daughter but there are definitely some scary parts. I think it's worth a parent's night out first so that you guys can judge. Maybe I was a skiddish kid (or more likely my mom was overprotective) but some of that stuff would have given me some serious bad dreams at 7.
ReplyDeleteI liked it but wished I hadn't gone to see it with any thought of what to expect. I think I would have enjoyed it more. Tim Burton sure does make gorgeous films though! I'm pretty sure this is my favorite Johnny Depp character yet!
I went and saw Alice on friday night. It was pretty cool but totally not what I was expecting. I prefer the original. I don't think it would be too scary for a 7 year old. I was expecting it to be scarier than it was.
ReplyDeleteCute hair Katie!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks fantastic! I'm so jealous of people who can get out of bed and look good without needing a thorough scrub-down, make-up and electric appliances...
ReplyDeleteI just look a greasy mess first thing, even if the last thing i did before bed was shower. No fair!
I'm dying to see AiW too. I adore Tim Burton.
ReplyDeleteI'd say not too creepy for a 7 year old. I plan on taking my nieces over the weekend and they're looking forward to it too.
And as for the hair... so cute!
I saw it last week and its FAB you must go and its brilliant in 3D i think its fine for a creepy loving 7 years old :) and i love the hair xxxx
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks amazing like that!
ReplyDeleteI also want to see Alice in 3D. I've been hearing really good things.
Saw Alice in Wonderland this weekend. I was dissapointed! It was missing "something" It was missing the non sense, the confusing banter. I wanted the mad hatter scene to be more than what it was. I wanted them to burst out into song. But instead, it was just..... dreary. And instead of a curious Alice who loved all the weirdness around her, she always seemed, mad or upset. I dunno, like I said, it was just missing something. It didnt wow me, it wasnt laugh out loud funny. Just kinda sat through the whole thing and when it was over, we really didnt have much to say.
ReplyDeleteAlso the 3D wasnt amazing. Seems to me it would look the same not in 3D. Dont mean to be a debbie downer about it! The costumes were magical, just bummed about the rest.
<3 Julie
uhhh I wasn't gonna see it, but now that I see Matt Lucas of Little Britain fame is Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb, I think I will definitely check it out.
