T-Shirts and Other Things...

So, as I'm trying to place my order for t-shirt stock, (for Skunkboy tees soon!!!) I realize I have no idea what an "average" size is, and whether to err towards ordering more smaller sizes or larger sizes.  The tees will look like these:

As you can see, they are thin and comfy, and sized for women.  Tees for men will follow soon after, but I haven't gotten there quite yet.  So I ask you, if you don't mind sharing, what is your size?  I'd love to just get some sort of idea for an average.

Now for inspiration time.  I must work, work, work tonight for a potential shop update on Friday (I'll say for sure on Thursday), and I thought some pretty images would get me, and maybe you :), motivated!

This girl has the cutest photostream, and the prettiest kitchen ever!!!

Love this.

Pure beauty.

Danielle T is a color genius.  Just saying...

Have a wonderous night, friends.  I'm off to stitch up some newness for the shop.  Hoping to be super productive tonight.  xo Katie

  2. I'm a small- I like tighter tees so I can tuck them into high waisted skirts. I'm so excited to rock one of yours! <3

  3. Depends on the shirt, I am between a med and large. It's the boobs that make me go into bigger size shirts, which I hate because once I get the top part fitted, the rest doesn't fit me so well! darn shirts.

  4. For tshirts I like to play it safe and do mediums, just in case they shrink, plus I like 'em a little longer.

ps; The name/url option works, obviously. See, you aren't as un-computer savvy as you think! :)

  8. I honestly range anywhere from a L to an XXL just depends on the shirt style and it's stretch. These look fabulously comfy though, can't wait to get one. :)

  10. I am so excited to see the finished product!!! I wear an XS but I could get away with a small if need be.

  11. The girl with pink hair in the kitchen that you admire is actually one of the singers from Eisley. I don't know if you listen to them, but they have lovely music. "They" as in her sisters, brother, and cousin.

But with shirts it depends on the material. You said thin right? I'm generally a small in tops, but with thin shirts I like to go up a size for whenever I layer and have room to move.

  12. xs or small. i can't wait for these!!!

  14. i'm an xs. but, being pregnant, i normally buy my shirts in small so they fit until my tummy gets too big, and until i lose it after the baby comes. :)

  22. In that shirt I would probably wear a medium. I can usually go between small and medium but I like things bigger for those days when you don't feel like havin' all your goods hugged, hah

    ReplyDelete
  29. American Apparel I wear an Large or XL... if that gives you some frame of reference. Keep in mind some of us women have large chests. Not bragging, just representing. I am also not apologizing for my size.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I wear a size small in most shirts, but I actually buy a large in t shirts that are fitted that way--my dryer tends to shrink them a lot. !!

    ReplyDelete
  31. girl, I have been in your shoes :)!
It also depends what company you are using, american apparel fits small. but I feel most girls are a small or medium.
Good luck, I would totally wear one and would also love to own one of your plushies :)!!!

  32. I'm usually an XS but for a tshirt that thin, I'd probably go up to a small.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I like them a bit looser so I usually go for a medium.

But then girl shirts are so weird and sometimes I'll be a large or an xsmall.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh please make the shop update on Friday! I work Friday night, and Sat. and am afraid on missing out on wonderful things.

    ReplyDelete
  35. small usually. most of my friends wear small or medium i'd say. that shirt reminds me of shade clothing, heard of them?

    xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'd probably go with a small. I like my tops long and fitted so I can wear them with jeans or tuck them into skirts.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Please do larger sizes for us ladies with the ginormous breasts. Please. I hate not being able to jump on the cute tshirt band wagon because my boobs are extra large, even while the rest of me is a medium.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 'ello beautiful. i wear a medium. but i definitely support the comment above mine. <3

    ReplyDelete
  39. yay for Skunkboy tees!! I'm a medium. I don't like tees to fit too tight. Can't wait to see 'em!

  40. In australian sizes I am a medium. when I worked in retail medium and small were the sizes that we would sell out of the fastest

    ReplyDelete
  41. i am a small... but if the fabric is thin i would buy a medium and layer

    ReplyDelete
  42. For shirts like that. Looks like I am in the non normal. I am a l-xl. I have umm. Big girls we shall say. :) Yayy for t shirts. I would love one!

    ReplyDelete
  43. XS, but i like my tshirts to be S (:

    ReplyDelete
  44. L - XL. Usually women's shirts runs small, so even regular L wearers might need XL too

    ReplyDelete
  45. ooh! are you going to print or applique or what??? I can't wait to see...
    I'm pretty much a medium...looks like a great t-shirt.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  48. in american apparel sizes i'm a large. good luck with this venture!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm a medium! I like it comfy and not too tight. Lou

    ReplyDelete
  50. I fit a classic Medium shirts, but if i'm buying offline or at a fair with a screenprinted tee, I'll go for large since they usually run really slim! Are you getting american apparel? they run REALLY small. Like I had to get a xl once. :(

    ReplyDelete
  51. Shirts would be a great idea! I would order a Med. Can't wait to see what they look like!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I would love to order a Med! I think shirts are a great idea! Good color choice!

    ReplyDelete
  53. small to medium! depending on the brand & material. i like my shirts to fit & not cling.

    ReplyDelete
  54. not gonna lie in slim tees like that i normally get a L or an XL...
apparently you have a very petite group of readers...so please make sure you order some for those of us with some curve <3

    ReplyDelete
  55. Between Med/Large depending on how "slender" the cut is and how short (I like longer shirts). Really can't wait to see the shirts, I am sure they will be totally rockin!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I fluctuate between a small and medium. I have curves on the bottom, but lack on the top. So not sure how the slim fit would fit me around the hip area. :o)

  57. That kitchen!
I'm in the process of re-doing mine and that picture gave me a burst of inspiration. HOO-RAY!

As for t-shirts, I tend to buy large for the boobalas and also I've found that even my pre-shrunk t's seem to shreenk.

So, long story longer... large please :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Large - for a comfy fit and Medium when I want a tighter fit for under cardigans

    ReplyDelete
  59. i'm a small to a medium but usually opt for a slightly larger/looser fit.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm a small in t-shirts, but a medium size for possible shrinkage is usually best. That kitchen is awesome! Very inspiring for me to add more touches on mine. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. ♥

  61. I'm a medium, being 5'9" I need a longer shirt but these look well fitted, long & lovely! I can't wait to rock one of your shirts! Oh & Sherri DuPree Bemis' photo stream is amazing! Thanks for sharing the lovely images!

    ReplyDelete
  62. my "ladies" are on the large side, so i always have to wear XL shirts. :D
can't wait to see your designs. :D

    ReplyDelete
  63. xs/small too. obviously depends on sizing, but I agree with Danielle's comment about wanting it tighter to tuck in to skirts and whatnot.

can't wait to see these! So cute!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm about a medium. I'd recommend you get a Small, Medium, Large. These will accommodate most people as most will be willing to wear a slightly bigger size (XS's for instance can still look great in a small). The tees look really comfy :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. that is sherri dupree from eisley's photostream :)
and i tend to wear a small/medium. i can't wait to see the shirts!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Im a medium. I always order a size larger with tshirts though, cause they shrink. With that shirt Id order a large

  67. I wear varied sizes. Right now I am a large or extra large. summer time brings me to a medium. Its crazy how much I fluctuate just due to my moods and the season.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I wear a large to extra large. Extra large for fitted t's seems to work best plus there is extra length too.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm an english size 8 not sure what that would be?? maybe a small, can't wait to see them :) xx

    ReplyDelete
  70. it depends, sometimes small and sometimes medium. what color is the shirt going to be?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Small to medium. ;D

    ReplyDelete
  72. since it's a more fitted looking shirt...probably a medium.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'm a small!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'd say a L or XL. I like my tops a bit loose and longer.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Geze, I didn't realize everyone was so TINY! I'm a medium or a large... it really depends on the shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I would always say to go for the larger sizes, I personally prefer a longer tee. I think you can always wear a large tee, but you can't do much with one thats too small. Looking forward to seeing the finished product! :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. I consider myself to be an "average" size, and I range anywhere from a L to a XXL, depending on the shirt. If they are thin, and cut narrow then I'll need a XL or XXL probably.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think that tee looks perfect and pretty stretchy, so where my chest usually requires a size up, I think the medium for me :)

I am a happy owner of one of your little creations, but I just spotted you over at the a beautiful mess blog giving the most awesome tutorial, and I just had to come over here and tell you that you look stinkin' adorable in those pictures! It figures that an adorable person would make adorable little creatures :)

  81. XL-XXL in womens sizes or M-L in mens. I prefer waring mens because they tend to be more comfortable and roomy.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm representing for the curving women.....We need some plus sizes: XXL and XXXL.....PLEASE!!!!

    Hugs, Ashlyn

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm plus sized, so I would love something in XL (or possibly even XXL). sometimes it is so hard for a big girl to find adorable clothes without having to spend a fortune.

    ReplyDelete
  84. See in more flowy shirts (and dresses) I can do a medium. But for a shirt more clingy I would stick with a large.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I'm an XS. Usually they are never fitted enough ... Except for American Apparel's feminine Tshirts.

  86. American Apparel's S unisex, or M-L fitted/women's are great for me; They just need to be LONG!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I'm a size large (I have the same big boob issue). I'm in the same boat, as I am starting to add t-shirts into my shop as well. Sizes and t-shirt styles are hard choices to make!
